Abstract: A connector assembly having an outer ground contact and a one piece over-molded housing and a method of assembly. The outer ground contact has an outer contact socket portion and an outer contact termination portion. The outer contact termination portion has openings which extend through a wall of the outer contact termination portion. The one piece over-molded housing has a nose cone portion, an inner dielectric portion and transition portions which extend between the nose cone portion and the inner dielectric portion. The nose cone portion is positioned outside of the outer contact termination portion. The inner dielectric portion positioned inside of the outer contact termination portion. The transition portions extend from the nose cone portion, through the openings, to the inner dielectric portion. The positioning of the transition portions in the openings securely mounts the outer grounding contact to the housing.

  • Patent number: 8911253
Abstract: A receptacle contact for receipt of a mating contact and a method therefore. The receptacle contact has side walls, each of the side walls has an opening provide therein. A resilient contact arm extends between the side walls. Projections extend from the resilient contact arm and extend through the openings of the side walls. A weak area is provided on the resilient contact arm, the weak area positioned between the fixed end and the projections. The projections engage a wall of the opening as the mating contact is inserted into the receptacle contact, causing the at least one contact area to become fixed and allowing the weak area to move into engagement with the mating contact, thereby providing multiple areas of contact between the resilient contact arm and the mating contact.

  • Patent number: 6695623
Abstract: A method and structure for electrically and mechanically interconnecting an array of printed circuit board contacts to an array of module contacts with a plurality of deformable resilient electrical conductors with two ends. Each of the conductor ends are electrically connected to one of the contact arrays. A portion of the conductor may deform longitudinally and laterally responsive to movement of the printed circuit board relative to the module responsive to heating and cooling cycles and mechanical vibrations, while maintaining the electrical connection of the contact arrays. An interposer with apertures extending through the interposer carries the conductors in the apertures and is used to align the conductors with the contacts. A method for excluding a rigid adhesive means from a portion of the resilient conductor is also taught.

  • Patent number: 6203366
Abstract: Automobile distance sensors are becoming increasingly common. These sensors must be connected to the automobile bumper in a permanent fashion and rigidly in a predetermined installation position. According to the invention, the device for receiving an ultrasonic sensor is divided. A first part (3) is cast onto the bumper (1), the second part (11) being preferentially connected to the first part (3) in such a way that it cannot be detached. Advantageous embodiments are aimed at installing the sensor so that it is tilted and relate to preferred methods of connecting the two parts of the device. A second configuration relates to a sensor which is provided with a holder. The holder is particularly suitable for latching into the bumper at the front with a sensor.

Abstract: A high-frequency coaxial right-angle connector element has coaxial connecting lines disposed in a housing. The housing is formed from metallized plastic and is provided with many contact bases peripherally on its underside. The contact bases serve to fasten the housing onto or on a board and to connect the coaxial connecting lines with associated terminals on the board. The coaxial connecting lines are inserted into straight tubular leadthroughs in the housing, formed in a plane parallel to the underside of the housing. The leadthroughs have groovelike recesses on the rear of the housing, in which the rear end pieces of the internal conductors extend downwardly out of the housing.
