  • Publication number: 20090253296
Abstract: An electrical card connector for insertion of a card includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts and a push-push mechanism. The insulative housing defines a card receiving space and a side wall which includes a resistance wall and a notch located forward the resistance wall. The push-push mechanism includes a locking arm including a hook deformable in the notch and an engaging portion extending from the hook. When the card is fully inserted into the card receiving space to reach a final locking position, the hook locks with the depression of the card. When pulling out the card under such final locking position, the engaging portion abuts against the resistance wall for preventing the card from withdrawing from the card receiving space.

  • Publication number: 20090221182
Abstract: A card connector comprises a plurality of contacts, a frame, a shell and a locator. Each of the plurality of contacts comprises a first portion extending in a first direction and a second portion extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each contact has substantially an L-like shape. The frame has a front end portion and a rear end portion. The rear end portion holds, in part, the first portions of the contacts. The first portions extend into a space defined by the frame toward the front end portion in the first direction. The second portions extend away from the frame in the second direction. The shell is attached to the frame. The shell shields, in part, the second portions of the contacts. The locator is supported by the shell. The locator is distinct from the shell. The locator holds, in part, the second portions of the contacts so that the second portions penetrate the locator.

  • Publication number: 20090149067
Abstract: An electrical coupler includes a connector receptacle having multiple modules. The modules each include a pair of signal conductors and a ground plane or shield, held together by a dielectric module body. The shields are between the pairs of conductors in adjacent modules, and provide electrical shielding between the pairs of signal contacts of different modules. The signal conductors and the shields may be coupled to a board, such as a circuit board. The receptacle may be an angled receptacle, such as a right angle receptacle. The signal conductors of each pair in the receptacle may have a predetermined amount of skew, having different effective electrical lengths. This may allow signal paths through the receptacle and the board to have a combined electrical path that is substantially the same for the signal conductor pair of one of the modules.
