Having Only Three Prong-receiving Recesses Arranged To Define Apices Of A Triangle Patents (Class 439/685)
  • Patent number: 10186928
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric motor used in household appliances such as washing machines, comprising a rotor, a stator, more than one winding the diameter and coil number of which are determined according to the desired power and the number of revolutions, more than one terminal to which the winding ends are connected, a connector wherein the terminals are situated, fixed on the stator and which provides the electrical connection between the windings and the external power source and a thermal switch connected in series to the windings, which cuts off the electric current passing therethrough and stops the operation of the electric motor by detecting the increase in the current that occurs due to reasons such as excessive load and mains voltage variability.

Abstract: An external connector block that can be positioned over multiple standard-sized power supply terminals that are secured to the housing of, e.g., a compressor is disclosed. The connector block includes an electrically conductive bridge connecting respective pins of the terminals in parallel. By connecting the terminals in parallel, the connector block increases the maximum allowable operating current of a terminal connection, while still utilizing standard-sized power terminal feed-throughs. As such, the connector block of the present disclosure may enable higher power rated applications without requiring a new power supply terminal design.

The individual conductors are disposed in superposed layers or levels in a connector body and terminate at staggered locations along the connector. Access holes are provided for pin insertion at right angles to the conductors. One layer is accessed through holes provided in a well and the other layer accessed through holes in the connector surface.

  • Patent number: 5173057
Abstract: A hermetic compressor with a permanent protective cover assembly including a protective cover, fastener means attaching the protective cover to the compressor housing over a hermetic terminal, and concealment means for preventing field technicians from viewing the fastener means and uncovering the hermetic terminal. The concealment means includes a cap that fits flush with the front face of protective cover over the fastener means. A terminal strip on the protective cover is in electrical connection to the covered hermetic terminal thereby eliminating the necessity to remove the protective cover during field service.

  • Patent number: 5131858
Abstract: Within a hermetically-sealed compressor, a cluster assembly provides the connection to a three-prong header so that power can be applied to the motor within the compressor. The walls of the compressor are closed as completely as possible except for openings for leads extending from the cluster block and for pins from the header projecting into the cluster block. Each pin has a ceramic collar that is surrounded by a skirt extending from the cluster block surface. The collar and skirt configuration more than doubles the length of the path that an arc must follow if there is arcing between pins.

  • Patent number: 4966559
Abstract: A terminal block assembly for connection to the interior side of an electrical hermetic terminal of a hermetic compressor is disclosed. The hermetic terminal comprises a cup-shaped metallic body member having a plurality of conductor pins which extend through spaced apertures in the body member and are hermetically secured thereto by means of a glass insulating material. A cylindrical open end of the cup-shaped body member is exposed to the interior of the housing. The terminal block assembly comprises a main body member and a lid member. The main body member includes a cylindrical side wall portion that fits snugly within the open end of the terminal body member. The conductor pins extend through apertures in a round bottom wall of the main body member into partitioned channels in which the conductor pins are electrically connected to respective wire conductors. The lid member interlocks with the main body member to cover the partitioned channels.
