Abstract: An electrical screw-on terminal assembly is provided for a connection to wires or cables, particularly those with eye connectors. The terminal assembly has a housing and a screw which, as it is screwed in, passes through a first plate, and when fully screwed in, a second plate. The first plate is mounted so that it cannot rotate or be moved longitudinally, while the second plate is mounted so that it can be moved longitudinally but not rotated. When the terminal is completely open, the second plate abuts a stop on the housing and is held in this position by a resistive force, which can be overcome by the screw, so that the aperture onto which the cable or cable eye is inserted remains unobstructed. The screw can be screwed into a bore in the first plate until it engages the second plate. The bore in the first plate has no internal thread, but has projections which engage the screw threads.
Abstract: A clamping device for making an electrical connection has a tightening nut which can be screwed on a screw thread and on being axially adjusted exerts a clamping force on a component which cannot be axially moved, e.g., the end of a cable to be clamped. In order to permit particularly easy tightening and releasing in such a clamping device and prevent damage to the axially immovable component, the tightening nut is fitted on the clamping side with a separate pressure member transmitting the clamping force fitted on the clamping nut rotatably about the screw thread axis.
Abstract: An electrical bus bar assembly is provided in which an elongate conductor member having at least one generally flat surface with two spaced generally parallel channels having an opening through the flat surface narrower than a major section of the channel parallel to the flat surface and separate by a riser member extending above said surface are provided with at least one connector module made up of a top member with two depending legs bent inwardly at the end remote from the top member and terminating adjacent the riser member and having a foot member on each slidably engaged in the parallel channels through said opening, and clamp means in the top member acting to exert pressure on a wire inserted between the legs and on the riser to fix the wire in the connector module and the connector module in tight conductive relation on the conductor member. Lips provided on the legs interact with grooves provided on a T-shaped member to prevent the foot members from spreading apart.
Abstract: An apparatus for securely clamping items having various shapes and sizes for placing items into direct electrical contact, the apparatus including a reference member, a receiving cavity therein and having a pair of mounting flanges extending outward therefrom. A worm gear member, rotatably mounted on the reference member is meshed with a pivoting member, having a gear portion, a contoured engaging surface and a hooking tab. Rotation of the worm gear member selectively pivots the pivoting member away from the reference member.

Abstract: A small electric device accommodating therein a printed substrate having electric circuitry and employing terminal connecting devices for connecting electric wires from external devices to terminals on the printed substrate, the terminal connecting devices being fastened to a terminal section of a holding member. Positions of the terminals on the substrate and mounting positions of the corresponding terminal connecting devices are so arranged that the terminals on the substrate and portions of the terminal connecting devices are brought into contact and are connected electrically upon assembly of the substrate and the holding member.

Abstract: An arrangement for clamping an electric conductor includes a clamping cage having a threaded bore centered on a central axis. A clamping screw is received in the threaded bore for threading in and out along a predetermined path centered on the central axis. An insertion receptacle for the electric conductor is accommodated in the clamping cage and extends substantially parallel to the central axis. A pressure member is mounted in the clamping cage for pivoting about a pivot axis out of and back into an open position thereof and extends into the predetermined path. A spring urges the pressure member toward its open position. The spring is an integral unitary portion of the clamping cage and extends from an outer contour of the clamping cage towards the pressure member.
