Abstract: An attachment apparatus is usable as a line terminal or load terminal of a circuit interrupter to enable a conductive element that includes a ring terminal to be electrically connected with a conductor of a circuit interrupter. The attachment apparatus employs a conventional lug which serves as a connector. The lug includes a threaded engagement element. The attachment apparatus further includes a connection element having a threaded receptacle that is structured to receive a shank of a threaded fastener. The shank is received through a hole formed in a ring terminal and is further threadably receivable in the receptacle of the connection apparatus to enable the ring terminal and a wire connected therewith to be reliably electrically connected with a line conductor or a load conductor of the circuit interrupter. The threaded shank can be unthreaded from the connection element to permit removal of the ring terminal and associated wire.

Abstract: A clamping body for an electric conductor, comprising a clamping body pocket that forms a receiving space for receiving the electric conductor. A threaded bore is formed in a lateral wall of the clamping body pocket in order to receive a screw. The aim of the invention is to devise a solution in which the clamping body substantially has the properties of a clamping body that is made of art alloy containing brass and simultaneously complies with the EU guidelines and regulations prohibiting certain materials. This is achieved in that the clamping body pocket is formed from an alloy containing aluminium, said alloy having a tensile strength of 380 N/mm2 to 480 N/mm2.

  • Patent number: 5496142
Abstract: A slotted conical (non-flat) spring washer with an encircling ring provides improved spring washer performance. A split or slotted conical spring washer is encircled by a retaining ring that prevents the ends of the washer adjacent to the slot from expanding as the washer is compressed. The ends of the washer on both sides of the slot move to prevent the washer material from exceeding its yield strength. The ring restricts the radial movement of said outside diameter of the washer strip away from a center axis of the washer bore. The ring can be a counter bore in a member to be clamped, a retaining washer having an outside annular washer to act as the ring, or can be integral with the spring washer such that the slot appears not to pass completely through the washer strip. This slotted conical spring washer greatly increases the elastic spring travel available during repeated clamping cycles and during movement of clamped members due to differences in rates of thermal expansion and thermal gradients.

  • Patent number: 4764132
Abstract: A connector block assembly for electrically connecting a proximal ring electrode of a bipolar pacemaker lead to the pacemaker. The connection is made in a way that maintains secure electrical contact and that prevents the delicate proximal ring electrode from being damaged or deformed. The pacemaker includes a connector block having a channel therethrough into which the proximal ring electrode is inserted. A C-ring is sandwiched between the ring electrode and an inner wall of the connector block's receiving channel. A setscrew adjustably forces the C-ring against the ring electrode. Mechanical stop means limit the transverse movement of the C-ring, thereby preventing the ring electrode from being deformed, while still maintaining a firm grasp of the ring electrode between the C-ring and the connector block. An alternative embodiment employs a resilient spring to firmly hold the ring electrode in electrical contact with the connector block.
