Patent number: 5449301Abstract: A shunt connector provides for electrical connection of a pair of adjacent terminal pins inserted into a housing. A spring contact having a convex bowed body portion extends into a cavity in the housing where the pins are inserted. The terminal pins are inserted into the housing along an axis which is substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of the spring contact. The spring contact is resilient such that the body engages the terminal pins and pressure engagement is maintained between the spring body and the pins which ensures that a proper electrical connection is made. The spring contact comprises a conducting material such that the pins are shorted upon contacting the spring.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1993Date of Patent: September 12, 1995Assignee: Berg Technology, Inc.Inventors: Taj F. Patent number: 5376025Abstract: A fitting for halogen lamps of the type having plural contact pins has an insulating socket with a recess for each contact pin. Each recess confines a pivotable and reciprocable plate-like contact which is connected to a conductor and is biased by a coil spring to engage an abutment of the socket and to define therewith a wedge-like path for insertion of a contact pin. The contacts are hinged to the socket adjacent the inlets of the respective recesses, and the insertion of a contact pin into its recess results in a composite pivotal and translatory movement of the respective contact away from the adjacent abutment. The major part of the inserted contact pin is clamped between the contact and the abutment.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1992Date of Patent: December 27, 1994Assignee: Bender & Wirth GmbH & Co.Inventors: Helmut Willnat, Hans D. Patent number: 5342225Abstract: An improved electrical connector for use in pyrotechnic displays. The connector uses a single piece conductor pin, a clamp and a spring. Wires from a pyrotechnic projectile are attached to the connector by pushing down on the clamp and compressing the spring, providing an opening in which bare wire may be placed. Releasing the clamp causes the spring to extend, thereby securing the wire between the head of the conductor pin and the clamp by spring tension. After the projectile has been launched, a wire may simply be pulled out by the operator without pushing down on the clamp. The improved connector is especially useful where the pyrotechnic devices and associated electric circuitry are mounted on or near the water. Because of its primarily stainless steel structure, the connector is corrosion-resistant. It also provides a watertight seal, preventing the introduction of water to the firing control system circuitry.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1993Date of Patent: August 30, 1994Assignee: The Walt Disney CompanyInventor: Raymond C. Patent number: 4942876Abstract: A pacemaker terminal for connecting an electrode lead having a proximal end includes a first section fixed to the pacemaker and a second section moveably engaged with the first section. A spring element is interposed between the first and second sections to exert a force to displace the moveable section from the fixed section. Both sections have transverse holes which, upon application of squeezing pressure to the terminal to overcome the spring action, become aligned so as to allow insertion of the proximal end of the electrode lead. Thereafter, upon release of the pressure, the spring element displaces the sections so as to capture the electrode lead securely in the holes. The holes may be provided with an internal thread, such as an asymmetrial sawtooth pattern, to aid in holding the lead in place and maintaining electrical contact with it.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1988Date of Patent: July 24, 1990Assignee: Telectronics, N.V.Inventor: Gerhard R.
