  • Patent number: 7821270
Abstract: A demountable pellet is disclosed for use as an electrode contact assembly. The pellet comprises a base 1 upon which is mounted a plurality of electrodes 18, 19, 20 arranged in respective spaced parallel planes and having respective contacts 23, 24, 25 protruding from them. A closure 2 for the base 1 has a member 11, 12, 13 engaging at least one of the electrode contacts. In an unassembled condition of the pellet, with the closure 2 separate from the base 1 and each closure member disengaged from its respective electrode contact, the contacts 23, 24, 25 lie in respective spaced parallel planes. In the assembled condition of the pellet with each closure member engaging its respective electrode contact, at least one of the contacts 23, 24, 25 lies in a plane other than that in which it lay in the unassembled condition of the pellet.

  • Patent number: 7813895
Abstract: Methods for matching semiconductor plasma processing chambers using a calibrated spectrometer are disclosed. In one embodiment, plasma attributes are measured for a process in a reference chamber and a process in a sample chamber. Measuring the plasma attributes during process perturbations allows for the correlation of process parameters to the plasma optical emission spectra. The process parameters can then be adjusted to yield a processed substrate which matches that of the reference chamber. Methods for monitoring the stability of a plasma processing chamber using a calibrated spectrometer are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6254398
Abstract: A process for determining particles in a dry etching system, prior to performing the dry etching definition of a desired pattern, has been developed. The process features a two cycle, dry etching procedure, with the first cycle performed using a first set of dry etching conditions, not robust enough to result in etching of exposed material, but robust enough do allow the activation, and operation, of a backside helium alarm procedure, used to monitor particle count in the dry etching chamber, to be realized. If particle counts are acceptable a second cycle of the dry etching procedure, using a second set of dry etching conditions, is employed to define the desired pattern. If the particle counts observed via use of the backside helium alarm procedure during the non-etching, first cycle, are high, the dry etching procedure is interrupted. After cleanup of the dry etching chamber, the same samples, with a re-worked photoresist, are again subjected to the two cycle, dry etching procedure.

  • Patent number: 4850880
Abstract: A device having two separate sets of contacts and a pivotal axis allowing 360.degree. of rotational freedom between the two sets of contacts. The device is designed to provide the release of radial mechanical energy, stored in a coiled cord due to repeated twisting action, and imparted to the cord from the device attached to the cord. The device provides for continuous electrical connection between the two sets of contacts, by providing unique rotary contacts which allow interruption-free electrical continuity during the full 360.degree. of rotation. The device provides for a minimal degree of friction, to allow for the rapid and thorough release of radial energy, and also provides minimum contact-wear, to allow for optimum electrical continuity and to provide for a long, useful life.
