  • Patent number: 4246863
Abstract: A flushing assembly of the type used to clean outboard motors by forcing cleaning water through the inlet ports of the outboard motor and comprising a base specifically structured to provide a water inlet in fluid communicating relation to the inlet ports of the motor. The base is structured so as to be capable of being clamped to the motor being cleaned adjacent the inlet ports and further to allow a water supply to be interconnected to the base wherein both the water supply and the adjustment of the base occurs at a location remote from the motor being cleaned so as to facilitate such cleaning when the motor is not readily accessible.

  • Patent number: 4241686
Abstract: A floatable passenger car for land and water cruising has a bow portion with an inclined floor, a central portion which with the bow portion forms a gliding boat body and floor and includes a bulkhead at its rear end, and a rear portion, seats being located in the central and rear portions to permit passengers to be selectively seated in the rear portion for maximum water cruising speed. The front and rear wheels are retractable into individual compartments located in the central and rear body portions, respectively, and the compartments for retaining the front wheels include sliding doors covering the openings to the compartments when the front wheels are retracted to reduce resistance during high speed cruising on the water. A propeller shaft with a propeller on the end thereof extends rearwardly from the bulkhead and is pivotable between elevated and lowered positions. The engine is located between the front wheels and is coupled through transmissions to the front wheels and the propeller shaft.

  • Patent number: 4239013
Abstract: This invention is directed mainly to a propelling apparatus and a control for said propelling apparatus for use with a boat. This invention can be used with a small boat for pleasure and also for fishing. The propelling apparatus comprises a pump in the form of a propeller and a motor for driving the impeller. Also, there is a novel heat exchanger arrangement and a novel mounting device for support of the motor in a driving relationship with the propeller. Further, there is a novel heat exchanger and muffler combination for the exhaust gases from the motor.

  • Patent number: 4220110
Abstract: A self-contained unit for underwater propulsion, for use with scuba tanks. The unit comprises an hydraulic motor which uses a special air compressor oil as an hydraulic fluid and uses the breathing medium to circulate the oil uniformly mixed therewith the mixture being powered by the breathing air supply itself and later separated, the air being then filtered for use as breathing medium by the diver.

  • Patent number: 4218988
Abstract: An amphibious walking vehicle having a mobile and stable structure which moves at a constant speed whether the vehicle is on land or on water. In the water the vehicle floats and is driven by a conventional propeller system. However, when on land the vehicle moves on pontoons which are successively moved ahead while the decks and superstructures which carry the payload are shifted from the stationary pontoon. The decks rest on an inboard or center pontoon and a pair of independent outboard pontoons which are connected to operate together. The amphibious walking transporter has a gear drive system which sequentially moves the center or inboard pontoon ahead while the outboard pontoons are stationary while carrying the payload, and vice versa. Each pontoon is successively moved by a gear system, including a sequential half-gear system and gear racks in combination with an ovate chain drive connected to a motor or engine through a chain drive floating shaft and rocker arms.

  • Patent number: RE30567
Abstract: A safety mount for a trolling motor including a clamp for attachment to the stern of a boat, a hollow mounting block pivotally mounted to the clamp, a detent arrangement disposed within the interior area defined by the block and for normally maintaining the block in abutting relationship with the clamp (the trolling motor being in operative position in the water), and a latch for latching the motor out of the water. The detent arrangement is so constructed that if the motor strikes an underwater object, the block will be pivoted with respect to the clamp and move the motor out of engagement with the object. Once the object is passed, the weight of the motor will move the block back to its normal operating position. The motor may be manually pivoted out of the water, and the block latched so that the motor remains in its inoperative position.
