Abstract: Disclosed are a composition and process useful for the trichromatic dyeing of polyamide textile fibers. The composition has a yellow component, a red component and a blue component and wherein the red component includes the mixture of Acid Red 361 and Acid Red 419.
Abstract: A method for joining, assembling, at least two parts comprising silicon carbide-based materials is provided. The parts are contacted with a non-reactive brazing composition, the assembly having the parts and the brazing composition is heated to a brazing temperature sufficient to melt the brazing composition, and the parts and the brazing composition are cooled so that, after solidification of the brazing composition, a moderately refractory joint is formed. The brazing composition is a binary alloy consisting, in atomic percentages, of 60% to 66% silicon and 34% to 40% nickel. Prior to contacting the parts with the brazing composition, a reinforcement is added. A composition comprising the brazing composition and a reinforcement is provided. A brazing paste, suspension comprising a powder of the brazing composition, a reinforcement, and an organic liquid cement, binder, or an organic viscous gel is provided. A joint and assembly obtained by the foregoing method is provided.

Abstract: A method of making a smooth surfaced, fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite includes the steps of providing a fiber preform, the preform having a surface containing voids; placing fibers into the voids; coating the preform fibers and the void fibers with a coating material to create a weak interface; and infiltrating the coated fibers with a matrix material to infill the voids and preform, and form strongly bonded networks within the voids. Alternatively, the resulting smooth surfaced, fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite may include, in addition to the first coating material on the preform fibers and the void fibers and the matrix material within the coated fibers and the preform to infill the voids and preform, a second coating material on the preform fibers and the void fibers, creating a second coating of substantially uniform thickness on the fibers and forming strongly bonded networks within the voids.
Abstract: Compositions including a fabric layer with a water-insoluble polymer impregnated into the fabric layer to provide sheets are described. In particular, the sheet composites have a permeability to oxygen in the direction perpendicular to the sheet that is less than one-tenth the transmission rate for the fabric layer alone and less than one-fifth the transmission rate for the polymer alone without the fabric layer.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to triggerable, water-dispersible cationic polymers. The present invention is also directed to a method of making triggerable, water-dispersible cationic polymers and their applicability as binder compositions. The present invention is further directed to fiber-containing fabrics and webs comprising triggerable, water-dispersible binder compositions and their applicability in water-dispersible personal care products, such as wet wipes.

Abstract: A composition for increasing the resistance of polyamide fibers or polyester fibers to oxidizing agents comprising an organosiloxane modified with amino groups, melamine formaldehyde resin, a catalyst for complexing the melamine formaldehyde resin and water. The composition is used by applying it to the fibers so the fibers absorb the composition, and then drying and curing the composition on the fibers. The composition is employed to treat a polyester or polyamide felt employed to convey wood pulp which is to be bleached, prior to paper making operations, treatment of the felt with the composition significantly lengthens the useful life of the felt, exposed to bleaching chemicals.
