Abstract: A seamed endless papermaking fabric for use with papermaking machines. The fabric includes a plurality of CMD (cross machine direction) yarns intermeshing with a plurality MD (machine direction yarns) in a selected intermeshing pattern forming a contact surface and a support surface. The MD yarns, which are arranged to extend beyond the endmost of the CMD yarns at the opposed first and second ends of the fabric, form a plurality of spaced seaming loops across the fabric. These loops are adapted to interleaf and receive a pintle which forms the seam forming the fabric endless. A first pair of additional yarns are intermeshed in a first intermeshing pattern repeat with the MD yarns outwardly of the endmost of the CMD yarns at one of the opposed ends and a second pair of additional yarns are intermeshed in a second intermeshing pattern repeat with the MD yarns outwardly of the endmost of the CMD yarns at the other of the opposed ends.
Abstract: A forming belt and/or a transfer belt which are belts for a forming part of an apparatus for manufacturing a construction material, prevent stains caused by entry of raw material particles and has excellent rigidity and cleanability.

Abstract: A “triple layer” fabric having upper and lower systems of interwoven yarns interconnected into an integral fabric by a system of stitching yarns. Preferably, the fabric is a forming fabric having upper and lower layers of uniformly sized machine direction (MD) yarns. Upper and lower layer cross machine direction (CMD) yarns weave, respectively, with the upper and lower MD yarns to define the upper and lower yarn systems. The lower layer CMD yarns are preferably larger in diameter than the MD yarns. The lower layer CMD yarns weave in a repeat pattern with respect to the lower layer MD yarns such that the lower layer CMD yarns weave in a repeat defined by floats under groups of at least three lower MD yarns and over pairs of adjacent lower MD yarns. Each lower layer MD yarn is in at least two different pairs relative to at least two different lower layer CMD yarns within the repeat which maintains a substantial degree of stacking of the lower layer MD yarns below respective upper layer MD yarns.
Abstract: A light-weight and impact-resistant composite material formed from a three-dimensional textile structure preform comprising at least three systems of yarns that define a plurality of interstices within the textile structure. A cellular matrix material impregnates the textile structure so as to fill the interstices of the three-dimensional textile structure and to coat at least a portion of the surface area thereof.
Abstract: A yarn is formed from discontinuous parallel fibers which are not twisted and which are held together by a covering yarn of sacrificial material wound around the fibers. The fibers comprise an intimate mixture of fibers of at least two different natures selected from carbon fibers or pre-oxidized polyacrylonitrile based carbon precursor fibers, or anisotropic or isotropic pitch based carbon precursor fibers, or phenolic or cellulosic based carbon precursor fibers, and ceramic fibers or ceramic precursor fibers. The mixture of fibers comprises, in its carbon state, at least 15% by weight of high strength fibers, having a tensile strength of at least 1500 MPa and a modulus of at least 150 MPa, and at least 15% by weight of fibers with a low Young's modulus of at most 100 GPa.

Abstract: A multilayer papermaking fabric having interwoven machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CMD) yarns, the CMD yarns defining at least upper and lower CMD yarn subsets which are interwoven with the MD yarns in a repeat pattern such that the MD yarns have substantially more interweavings with the upper CMD yarn subset than with the lower CMD yarn subset. The lower subset CMD yarns define machine side floats under at least seven MD yarns and each MD yarn interweaves with only two lower subset CMD yarns in a given repeat.

The warp and weft yarns are interwoven to form a fabric where the first warp yarn layer is adjacent to the second warp layer and the weft yarns define seam loops at two ends of the fabric. Each end of the fabric has at least one warp yarn which is free of interweaving with the weft yarns and is removed to form the seam loops.
Abstract: A forming fabric for use in papermaking machines having a paper support surface and a machine contact surface. The support surface comprises first weft yarns interwoven in a weaving pattern with warp yarns to form a weft dominated surface having alternating weft floats of first and second lengths. These floats are formed by the first weft yarns passing over different numbers of adjacent warp yarns in each pick of the weft across the weave pattern. The contact surface is woven with the second weft yarns weaving with the warp yarns in a weave pattern which also forms a weft dominated surface. The second weft yarns are passed under a greater number of adjacent warp yarns in each pick across the weave pattern than the first weft yarns are passed over forming the contact surface with very long weft floats.
