Abstract: A sealing device has a waterproofing layer, a functional layer, and an adhesive layer coated on and at least partially covering the first major surface of the waterproofing layer opposite the side of the functional layer. Also, a method produces a sealing device, a method waterproofs a substrate, and the use of the sealing device seals lapped joints formed between overlapping portions of waterproofing membranes and patches breaches in waterproofing membranes.

Abstract: A sheet-like composite material comprising a structural layer and curable thermosetting resin, and comprising a fibre-reinforced backing paper on one of its external faces.
Abstract: Disclosed are composite structures prepared using a hemicellulose-based adhesive. In a preferred embodiment, a laminate composed of plural laminae which have been bonded to one another using a hemicellulose-based adhesive is provided. The laminate is useful as a separator or partition in a shipping vessel. Most preferably, the hemicellulose-based adhesive contains one or more bonding agents and water., the hemicellulose being present in an amount of at least 10% by dry basis weight of the bonding agents.
Abstract: An aramid ballistic protection construction is disclosed with a combination of woven para-aramid fiber sheets and compressed pulp sheets. The construction exhibits improved wearer comfort and increased flexibility, with a level of ballistics protection nearly equal to that provided by an equivalent areal density of woven sheets, alone.
Abstract: Rigid composite laminates of paper and glass layers, suitable for use as ouflage, are provided. This combination of components allows for great versatility in the final design and utility. A strong bond is obtained between paper and a fiberglass layer due to formation of a resin-cellulose matrix which allows interbonding between the paper and fibrous glass. The composite laminates may include other coatings or signature control layers and can be used as simple appliques or construction materials. A method for preparing the composite laminates is also provided wherein the paper is treated to enhance porosity in the formation of the resin-cellulose matrix.

Abstract: A laminate wall structure which can be used as an exterior wall in manufactured housing and site built construction is made up of a low density layer having a density of from about one-half pound to three pounds per cubic foot, a second, reinforcing layer laminated to the low density layer and, optionally, a cellulosic layer laminated to the second, reinforcing layer. The low density layer is preferably a foamed polymer layer, the second, reinforcing layer is a polymer fabric, a biaxially oriented polymeric film or a fiberglass reinforced material and the cellulosic layer can be impregnated with an adhesive and/or resin in order to strengthen the laminate structure. This laminate wall structure has a low weight and yet is strong enough to meet wind zone wall diaphragm requirements for housing construction.
