In detail, the material is a multi-layer cloth assembly including at least two plies of fiber cloth, said cloth comprising 56 by 56 yarns/inch with a total weight of 150 to 450 g/m2, with the fiber of the individual cloth layers having a denier generally between 180 and 280 and with the fill of the individual plies at 90 degrees to each other. Preferably, the filaments should be between 200 and 215 denier.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2001Publication date: November 15, 2001Applicant: Lockheed Martin CorporationInventor: Donald R. Patent number: 6258435Abstract: A disinfecting mat includes a spongy core retaining a liquid disinfectant and a cover completely enclosing the core, where the cover has a top surface with an annular top edge and a top central mat portion that is liquid permeable. The core is contained in a water impermeable frame with a bottom and sides that contain the cover and with an inwardly extending annular lip that extends over at least a part of the annular top edge while leaving the top central mat portion open. The liquid permeable top central mat portion allows the disinfectant to puddle in areas of the top central mat portion that are depressed during use.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1998Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Inventor: Johan Staal

Patent number: 6093473Abstract: Abrasion resistant laminates which are aesthetically pleasing, water-resistant/water-repellant, and flexible are formed by laminating a wear-resistant durable multi-layer top assembly to a base layer formed from an inexpensive, water resistant, polymeric substrate. The durable multi-layer wear-resistant top layer assembly comprises a wear resistant upper layer, a decorative layer, and a core layer. The polymeric base layer comprises a water resistant substrate which is positioned beneath the top layer assembly and is laminated thereto with a water resistant adhesive. This abrasion resistant laminate could be applicable in a variety of situations wherever a decorative and/or abrasion resistant product could be used and would be particularly useful in the floor covering industry.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1998Date of Patent: July 25, 2000Assignee: LG Technology Sales and Marketing, Inc.Inventor: Ill Hong Min

Patent number: 6074722Abstract: The invention is a material suitable for use as the wall of a pressurized container such as the gas bag of a lighter-than-air vehicle. In detail the invention includes a first flexible ply having filamentary material comprising unidirectional filamentary material at 0 and 90 degrees to each other. A second flexible layer is included having unidirectional filamentary material at 0 and 90 degrees to each other and at 45 degrees to the filamentary material of the first ply. The strain value at failure for the filamentary material of the second ply is greater than the 0 and 90 degree filamentary material of the first layer. The first and second plies are bonded together by a resin. Preferably, additional a film of gas impermeable material and a ultra violet radiation resistant material are bonded to the first two plies.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1997Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Lockheed Martin CorporationInventor: Robert S. Patent number: 6057255Abstract: A strip material (1) comprising a support (2) includes on at least one side a plastics layer (5, 6) which is plane on the outside and which is traversed by throughflow passages. In accordance with the invention, the outside (7, 8) of the plastics layer (5, 6) includes embossments (9) provided also between the orifices of the throughflow passages which at least in part inter-communicate and communicate with the throughflow passages. In the production of the strip material, during or after the production of the plastics layer (5, 6), soluble particles are applied onto the outside (7, 8) of the plastics layer (5, 6) and are then pressed into the plastics layer (5, 6), the soluble particles being leachable by a solvent of a type in respect of which the remainder of the strip material (1) is stable whereafter these soluble particles are dissolved out.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1997Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Conrad Munzinger & Cie AGInventor: Michael Gass

Patent number: 6056479Abstract: Bonded composite open mesh structural textiles are formed of woven textile. The textile is formed from at least two, and preferably three, components. The first component, or load bearing member, is a high tenacity, high modulus, low elongation mono- or multifilament yarn. The second component is a polymer in yarn or other form which will encapsulate and bond yarns at the junctions to strengthen the junctions. The third component is an optional effect or bulking yarn. In the woven textile, a plurality of warp yarns are woven with a plurality of weft (fill) yarns. The weave preferably includes a half-cross or full-cross leno weave. At least a portion of the warp and weft yarns are first component load bearing yarns. The polymer component is used as required for the bonding properties necessary for the finished product, and especially to provide improved junction or joint strength.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1997Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: The Tensar CorporationInventors: Peter Edward Stevenson, Jeffrey W.
