Having Detachable Subordinate Part Of Face Or Head Patents (Class 446/100)
  • Patent number: 5348510
Abstract: A toy hat, mask, puppet or the like on which fanciful animal, human or monster faces can be created by attaching discrete facial elements comprised of a nose, eyes, ears, cheeks and the like. They are made, in whole or part, from fabric materials of a "loop" fastening nature, which with selective parts may be transformed (intra-changed) to make different styled nose, ear, tongue, eyebrow and the like. These discrete formable parts along with the other inter-changeable parts may then be mounted to the "hook" fastening composite materials of the curved compound surface located in the area of the face, forehead and front scalp region of the toy and other like items. At least 50% of the area of this curved compound composite surface is covered by a "hook" material layer made up of an essentially non-extensively flexible "hook" of a woven and/or extruded product.

  • Patent number: 5091833
Abstract: A kit for creating a face on a head-like base such as a pumpkin to create a jack-o-lantern or the like. The kit includes a plurality of illuminating units, each of which has a battery and light bulb, and a plurality of largely translucent facial elements such as an eye, mouth, ear, etc. The facial elements are screwed into the illuminating unit to envelop and surround the light bulb so that light from the bulb's light is transmitted through the facial elements and emitted from the external surfaces of those elements. The assembly is configured so that the battery is housed in a spear-like pointed base which may be pushed into the head-like base and the light-emitting facial element thereby affixed to the outer surface of the head-like base. Other non-illuminated facial elements may supplement the illuminated ones. The translucent facial elements are interchangeable on the illuminating units so that the same unit can use different elements and the user can have different choices of elements.

  • Patent number: 4976621
Abstract: Apparatus for styling a hair replacement, the apparatus consisting of a headblock, in two forms, each form presenting an edge which simulates the front hairline of the ultimate user of the hair replacement whereby the edge may be utilized in styling the hair replacement when it is placed in overlying relationship to the headblock after manufacture and for styling. In one form, the edge is created by forming a flat face on the headblock and on the other form by defining a concavity in the face area of the headblock, the concavity having an upper wall which presents an edge for use in styling. The method of using the apparatus involves utilizing such a headblock by placing a hair replacement over the scalp area of the headblock with a portion of the hair replacement extending over the edge and then styling the hair replacement and leaving a portion of the hair replacement extending over the edge after styling so that when placed upon the head of the user the hair replacement will have a natural appearance.

The attachable parts and control elements may have hook type material permanently affixed to allow universal placement on the loop fabricated elements. The hook type material may also advantageously be a free standing part in a back to back configuration and used as an intermediate element to attach two loop fabricated parts. Additionally, elements not fabricated from loop or hook type materials may be affixed to the loop or hook type material to facilitate use.
