Rotary Or Pivoted Valve Patents (Class 446/194)
  • Patent number: 5499940
Abstract: A system (10) simultaneously directs compressed fluid to a turbine while compressing fluid to disengage a locking mechanism that restrains movement of the toy vehicle (11). A primary tube (20), attached to the toy vehicle body (12), forms a primary chamber (22) which receives a plug in the form of a secondary tube (30) that seals the primary chamber (22). A fluid may be compressed into the primary chamber (22) through the inserted plug (30). The interior of the inserted tube (30) forms a secondary chamber (32) which encases a hollow piston (40). Fluid is compressed into the primary chamber (22) and secondary chamber (32) through the hollow piston (40). The hollow piston (40) also forms a part of a locking mechanism which maintains a latch (60), the primary tube (20) and the secondary tube (30) in contact with one another until pressurized fluid in the primary chamber (22) forces the piston (40) away from the latch (60).

  • Patent number: 5421763
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for use in connection with a child's toy which selectively generates a noise. The apparatus includes a chamber within a child's toy for holding a volume of air. Adjacent the chamber is a noise-making member, such as a reed, constructed to vibrate when subjected to a moving air stream. The moving air stream is created when the child sits on the toy and rocks back and forth (i.e., rides the toy). When the child rides the toy, air passes from the chamber and over the noise-making member. Surrounding the noise-making member is a tubular member for directing the air from the chamber around and past the noise-making member. The tubular member has an intake port in fluid communication with the chamber adapted to received air from the chamber and an exhaust port adapted to expel air after it has passed over the noise-making member.

  • Patent number: 4820232
Abstract: A voice making device for a moving animal toy, wherein an air is drawn in by a fan through air suction slits and delivered to a voice generating member with a vibrating piece through an air flow controlling cock, and the air suction slits are opened and closed by communication holes and blocking portions of an adjust plate, the cock and the adjust plate being actuated according to the motion of the moving animal toy. A moving animal toy using a voice making device, wherein a head, upper and lower jaws are mounted oscillatably and a voice making device is actuated by the indivisual motion of the head, upper and lower jaws to produce a sound with a specific tone.
