Abstract: An exercise device includes a shuttle configured to translate along a first and a second cable in response to a separation of the cables by a user. The cables may extend along first and second cable slots that extend through a shuttle housing between first and second sides of the housing. First and second pulleys may be rotatably mounted to the housing and include corresponding first and second engagement surfaces configured to engage respective the first and second cables within the respective first and second cable slots. Separation of the cable ends, proximate to the first side of the housing, relative to the first and second cable slots drives rotation of the pulleys and corresponding translation of the shuttle along the cables, away from the separating cable ends.

Abstract: The invention is a novel toy top which appears to defy ordinary performance. The toy top has a top portion, and a bottom portion, and is operable for being spun around with the bottom portion below the upper portion. The top portion is adapted to be rotated by an external rotational force to spin the toy top. The toy top includes means operable for enabling a change in the rotational inertia at a predetermined rate from first value to a second value lower than the first value after the toy top has started to spin, whereby the rotational spinning rate of the toy top initially reduces, and then increases due to the decrease in the rotational inertia of the toy top. Eventually, the toy top monotonically decreases its rotational spin and stops.

Abstract: The invention is a container comprised of two or more sections that are held together at an interface by one or more joints or seams. Decorative exterior layers can cover or otherwise obscure the seams, or the joints can be obscured or made inconspicuous. Two sections of the container each have a cord that is attached to the exterior side of the sections on opposite sides of the container, and a ring is attached to each cord so that when pulled, the sections of the container separate to reveal the interior of the container. The sections of the container are connected to each other in the interior so when the container is pulled open, the contents in the interior are released while the sections remain connected, and a message banner attached to and extending between the sections is revealed.

Abstract: An edible spinning device and method of operation provides: a spinning toy; a container; and an edible component for consumption. An outer sphere contains the candy and medicine. The outer sphere separates into a first sphere portion and a second sphere portion. An edible member having a pair of diametrically opposed depressions positions between the first sphere portion and the second sphere portion. A first cord extends along an axis between the first sphere portion and the edible member. A second cord extends along the axis between the second sphere portion and the edible member. Moving the first sphere portion away from the second sphere portion increases torque in the first and second cords to spin the edible member along the axis. Moving the first sphere portion towards the second sphere portion releases momentum from the generated torque to spin the edible member off-center from the axis.

Abstract: A bottle cap spinning device and method of operation provides: a spinning toy for entertainment; a container for containing a liquid, a candy, or a medicine; and an edible component for consumption. A bottle contains a liquid. A bottle cap caps the bottle while containing the candy and medicine. The bottle separates into a proximal cylinder, a distal cylinder, and a hub that positions between the cylinders. An edible member encapsulates the hub. A cord extends between the cylinders and carries the hub. Twisting the cord in a first direction generates torque, causing the hub to be rotatably carried towards the proximal cylinder. Twisting the cord in a second direction releases momentum from the torque, rotatably carrying the hub towards the distal cylinder. The cord is manipulated by rotating the cylinders. Drawing the cord taut or slackening the cord increases and decreases the angular and linear velocity of the hub.

Abstract: A Dispenser that converts into a spinning toy that is divided into a first, a second and a third section. The sections of the dispenser separate after the contents within the dispenser are consumed. The first, second, and third sections are connected to each other by a cord. After the dispenser is separated for use, the cord serves, when wound, as the means for providing a spinning movement of the toy when the toy is manipulated by the user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for mixing food are disclosed. In an embodiment, a mixing device includes a housing including a cavity configured to hold an item and at least one cord attached to the housing. The at least one cord is configured to cause the housing to rotate when the at least one cord is pulled in a direction away from the housing. In another embodiment, a method of mixing includes placing an item inside of a housing, rotating the housing in a first direction to create tension, and releasing the tension so that the housing rotates in a second direction and mixes the item.

Abstract: Dynamic, spinning, twisting string toys referred to as "humdingers" are disclosed. The toys include at least one highly elastic gel body having at least two holes extending through the body along a selected axis of rotation. The holes are treaded with a string(s) which are twisted and untwisted alternatively by the pulling and releasing action of the strings. The holes are provided with means to resist the shearing forces of the twisting strings. The dynamic effect of the extreme high centrifugal and shearing forces generated during play causes the gel bodies to change shape during spinning. Soft gels or low strength materials can also be substituted in place of the highly elastic gel body provide the body reinforced with shear resistant means to prevent cutting by the twisting and untwisting actions of the string(s).

Abstract: A toy and exercising device that utilizes a rounded body, such as a sphere, a pair of cord segments through said sphere on each side, and a pair of handles attached to the ends of the cord segments. The cord segments are spaced to allow twisting of the cord upon itself on each side of the device to cause the sphere to be rotated in a forward and reverse direction by pulling against the twisted cord with the handles. The exercising device can be adjusted to require variable force to successfully rotate the sphere in both directions by providing for variable spacing of the apertures that receive the cord on each side of the sphere. A centrifugal switch is also located within the compartment to cause the light to be illuminated when the disc is rotated.
