  • Patent number: 10632392
Abstract: A walking doll that produces a satisfying walking motion when assisted and vertically supported by a person holding the doll's hand and guiding the doll forward and from leg to leg, causing the weight to shift from leg to leg, and when the weight is relieved from one leg, that unweighted leg swings forward as a result of the influencing force of an internally located spring-like material, allowing each respective leg to move forward for the next step as weight is shifted from leg to leg.

  • Patent number: 8398449
Abstract: A light-weight toy is attached to a player via a near-invisible fixed-length tether, typically using a low-tack adhesive at the ends of the tether. In especially preferred embodiments, the toy has a mechanism that creates an appearance of plausible possibility of flight without actually providing sufficient lift and/or propulsion for flight. Imaginary flight is achieved by manual lifting and moving the toy via the tether. Thus, the tether forms an integral part of the imaginary play for the player and is not used as an implement of a ‘magic trick’ for an audience.

  • Patent number: 7270589
Abstract: A leg for use on hopping, running, jumping and walking machines. As incorporated into the bow leg hopper robot, a thrust actuator provides elastic energy to the leg which is automatically released during stance to control hopping height. Lateral motion is controlled by directing the leg angle at touchdown, which determines the angle of takeoff. The leg pivots freely on a hip bearing, and is automatically decoupled from the leg-angle positioner during stance to preclude hip torques that would disturb body attitude. Upright attitude is maintained without active control by allowing the body to hang from the hip joint. The leg may also be incorporated into multilegged running robots, and recreational vehicles.

Abstract: By simplifying the toy body composition, biped toy that can walk on two feet which can practice a walking movement between shifting the weight of a toy main body and shifting the center of gravity of the leg portion thereof can be provided a toy smaller at a lower price. A biped toy that can walk on two feet which is disposed symmetrically leg portion and arm portion which is activated by a driving means that is set interior of a torso, wherein the torso mounted a motor or wind-up type of driving means, whereof the bottom mounted a foot portion which is rotated in a rolling direction of a toy main body and a leg portion which is driven to cross and up-and-down direction of said toy main body. Interior of the leg portion and the torso mounted the first link member which drives leg portion by making circular motion remaining mounting angle against the torso and second link mechanism which mounted link member which is driven the foot portions by moving up-and-down.

  • Patent number: 6152799
Abstract: A toy figure includes a body, a pair of wings, a pair of legs, a tail, and a head converted to generally resemble a bird or other flying creature. The legs and wings are pivotally mounted to the body using a mechanism by which the pivotal movement of the legs in response to the user squeezing and releasing them repeatedly produces a corresponding wing-flapping action. A spring urges the wings to a raised position and urges the legs to a spread position. The head is pivotally supported by the body and a cam follower and cam arrangement couples the head to the wing movement apparatus such that the head moves side-to-side simultaneous with the wing-flapping movement.

  • Patent number: 6120343
Abstract: In a mechanism for moving the lower limbs to enable a toy to walk in a manner similar to the way a human walks. A drive mechanism in the body of the toy imparts a pivoting movement to the limbs to make the toy walk. The movements make one limb to move 180.degree. out of phase with the other limb. The toy counterbalances the reaction torque generated during the movement of the limb. A rod-shaped element slides freely in a recess housing within the body of the toy. A resilient helical spring acting on the rod-shaped element urges the limbs to move.

  • Patent number: 5836803
Abstract: A figurine replica of a person such as a player of a particular sport. The figurine replica has a front housing member replicating the front portion of a body of a person except for one limb member, a rear housing member secured to the front housing member and replicating the rear portion of the body of the person except for the limb member, and a replication of the limb member. The limb member has a spring component projecting therefrom and retained between the housing members such that the limb member can be moved by hand and the spring component returns the limb member to its original position. The spring and limb can be molded as a single unit, with the spring either in an elongate configuration for coiling upon assembly of the figurine replica or in an already-coiled configuration.

  • Patent number: 5306199
Abstract: Manually actuated toy dinosaur structure and method. The dinosaur structure includes a rigid body member, a head positioned on the body member, structure for lowering a lower jaw and then turning the head to one side, two legs having suction cup feet and ankle portions, structure for first releasing suction in the suction cups and then moving the legs to produce walking of the toy, a tail, and means for moving the tail. The method includes the steps of selectively actuating finger trigger members on a cable control member to selectively produce first opening of the lower jaw of the dinosaur followed by turning of the dinosaur's head to one side, alternately breaking the suction cup seal on one of the leg portions followed by lifting of the leg portion and subsequent returning of the leg portion to its initial position and to cause the dinosaur toy to appear to walk, and moving of the tail transversely over center.

  • Patent number: 5205775
Abstract: An ambulatory animal toy has a skeleton which includes a substantially horizontal torso. The torso has forward and rear ends defining forward and rear directions. Mutually spaced apart front and hind legs are attached to the torso. Feet are attached to the legs, and the feet have friction pads or rubber soles. The torso is caused to bend substantially horizontally while it is prevented from bending substantially vertically when the skeleton is pulled. The torso is inherently resilient in the horizontal direction and inherently inflexible in the vertical direction. At least the hind legs are pivotally attached to the torso and are allowed to rotate about a substantially horizontal axis.
