  • Patent number: 11280420
Abstract: A normally closed valve according to the invention comprises a closure delay system utilizing the effect of vacuum on a flexible suction cup to generate a force that keeps the valve open when in an open orientation for a preset time period. The valve further comprises a closure delay mechanism including an actuator shaft and a suction cup disposed in a cavity, being configured for downward reciprocating movement, wherein the suction cup engages the cavity top wall when the valve is in closed orientation thereby closing the valve, and adhering to a suction surface of the cavity when the actuator shaft moves under pressure for switching the valve from closed to open orientation thereby opening the valve. The suction cup automatically disengages the suction surface a preset time period after pressure ceases to be applied to the actuator shaft and reengages the cavity top wall thereby closing the valve.

  • Patent number: 11142325
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for ejecting a parachute, comprising a housing (2) with an ejection opening (3), wherein the housing (2) is suitable for at least partially accommodating the parachute. In order to enable a robust and repeated ejection of the parachute with a low weight of the device (1), according to the invention a movable base (4) is arranged within the housing (2), which base (4) is connected to the housing (2) via at least one spring element, wherein the base (4) can be releasably fixed in place within the housing (2) using a fixing means (5), wherein the device (1) is configured such that if a parachute is arranged within the housing (2), the base (4) is accelerated by the spring element when the fixing means (5) is released, so that the parachute is ejected through the ejection opening (3) by means of the base (4). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for ejecting a parachute.

  • Patent number: 10787068
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a vehicle cover system. The vehicle cover system may include a vehicle cover, a container, and one or more gathering cords. The container may have one or more cord channels that each have a first side that faces the interior of the container and a second side that faces the exterior of the container. The one or more gathering cords may extend through the one or more cord channels from the first side to the second side. Each of the one or more gathering cords may be mechanically coupled to the vehicle cover on the first side of the one or more cord channels and may be accessible on the second side of the one or more cord channels in the environment external the container while the vehicle cover covers the vehicle and while the vehicle cover is housed in the container.

  • Patent number: 6808436
Abstract: A aerial toy comprises a hollow sleeve member and a base member to receive and accommodate the hollow sleeve member longitudinally for sliding movement, the base member having a cap provided with a plurality of holes permit air entrance into the base member when it is pulled and an air insulation member bendably placed thereof inside the cap in a position opposite to the holes to prevent air exit from the base member when it is pushed to permit easy sliding of the base member along the hollow sleeve member while maintaining sufficient compressed air thereof. The aerial toy apparatus further comprises an air chamber into which the hollow sleeve member fits securely and a launch tube into which the air chamber fits securely to receive the compressed air from the hollow sleeve member and a flying member mountable onto an upper end of the launch tube to be pushed off of the apparatus by the compressed air released from the launch tube.

  • Patent number: 6713313
Abstract: A method for fabricating field emission arrays employs a single mask to define emitter tips, their corresponding resistors, and, optionally, conductive lines. One or more material layers from which the emitter tips and resistors will be defined are formed over and laterally adjacent substantially parallel conductive lines. The exposed surface of the layer or layers of emitter tip and resistor material or materials may be planarized. The emitter tips and underlying resistors are then defined. Substantially longitudinal center portions of the conductive lines may be exposed between adjacent lines of emitter tips, with at least a lateral edge portion of each conductive line being shielded by material that remains following the formation of the emitter tips and resistors. The exposed portions of the conductive lines may be removed in order to define conductive traces. Field emission arrays and display devices fabricated by such methods are also disclosed.
