    Abstract: A wheel assembly for a model airplane includes a motor, a drive gear unit, a linkage, and a wheel unit. The drive gear unit includes a driven gear meshing with a driving gear connected fixedly to a spindle of the motor, and an output gear driven indirectly by the driven gear. The linkage includes a swing rod connected fixedly to the output gear, and a link connected pivotally to the swing rod. The wheel unit has a pivot end connected pivotally to an airplane body, a wheel-mounting end mounted with at least one wheel, and an intermediate portion connected pivotally to the link. The motor is operable to activate the drive gear unit so as to rotate the wheel unit between a generally horizontal idle position, and an upright landing position.

    Abstract: An assembling structure for landing gear of a model airplane, including an airplane body having a base board on which a landing gear fixing seat mounted. The landing gear is fixed on the fixing seat by fixing pins passing through the fixing seat. The cap section of the fixing pin can be rotated by 90 degrees to engage in a channel of the fixing section of the landing gear. Under such circumstance, the landing gear is disengaged from the cap section of the fixing pin and can be quickly disassembled from the fixing seat and separated from the airplane body. Accordingly, the model airplane body and the landing gear can be quickly assembled and disassembled to facilitate carriage and storage of the model airplane.

    Abstract: In a model airplane having a landing gear 5 provided on a fuselage 1 or wing made as a zinc-alloy die-casting where a bearing member 19 is suspended from a strut 18, it is desirable that the manufacture of an accurately modelled landing gear be simplified. This is achieved in that a landing gear 8 formed with two clasp member arms 10 made of elastically bendable plastic forms the bearing member 19 and at least partially the strut 18 with a tenon 11 being inserted and glued into a cast cavity 12 in the fuselage 1/wing wherein the clasp member 8 bears against the zinc-alloy die-casting with a thickening shoulder 17. The clasp member being a plastic moulding permits a finely engraved realistic appearance of the strut and bearing member while simplifying assembly of the wheel pair and reducing the scrapping rate.

    Abstract: A toy vehicle having wheels which may be folded to a horizontal position under the vehicle by squeezing a hand grip. Two elongated axle members are rotatably engaged to the sides of the vehicle. The wheels are rotatably mounted on front and rear axles attached to the elongated axle members. A pivot plate is rotatably mounted to the bottom of the toy vehicle. When the hand grip is squeezed, a link connected to a trigger member causes the plate to rotate. The rotating plate then causes two slotted links to rotate the elongated axle members. As a result, the wheels mounted on the axle members also rotate until they reach a substantially horizontal position under the vehicle. The wheels remain in this folded position until the hand grip is released. When the grip is released, springs return the wheels to a vertical position. The slotted links are designed to allow the wheels at just one side of the toy vehicle to be folded.
