    Abstract: The lid of the beehive has a split open top held by a mechanism to the one side of the body of the lid. By opening the top of the lid a surface is revealed which has containers on the one side and an easily open cover on the other, which enables immediate access into the internal of the hive. On the top of the lid there are shutters that open and close the air intake holes. The hive has a folding take off board on its bottom reducing space during transportation. It uses dovetail joints to hold the sidewalls making the beehive very durable.

    Abstract: A disposable, biodegradable beehive which comprises an enclosure of wax-coated cardboard. The enclosure includes an opening to allow the bees to enter or exit the beehive and a closure for the opening. Small ventilation holes, relative to the size of a bee, are provided to allow air to circulate. A plurality of cardboard layers are fitted to the bottom of the enclosure with a section of the layers removed to form a nest pocket or a dry feed pocket. A float feeder is attached to the enclosure with the feeder element internal to the enclosure, while the main body of the feeder is external to the enclosure to allow the feeder to be supplied with external liquid feed.

    Abstract: A housing has a length adjustable to match the length of the bee entrance of a common type of brood chamber and a width at least equal to the width of that bee entrance. The housing includes screened openings or other ventilation provision to permit air to pass through the bee entrance of the brood chamber. One or more arms or other clamping device on the housing holds the housing securely over the bee entrance to prevent bees from entering or leaving the brood chamber. The device facilitates transport of bees as well as laboratory control of African bees.
