Abstract: A method for in-place machining of a collector ring attached to a turbine shaft of a hydroelectric generator includes: attaching a support member to stationary portions of the hydroelectric generator, the support member being configured to support a machine tool at an angle parallel to an inclination angle of an axis of rotation of the turbine shaft; attaching an adjustable positioning device to the support member; attaching the machine tool to the adjustable positioning device, the machine tool being configured to perform a machining operation on the collector ring; controlling a rotational speed of the turbine shaft to a specified rotational speed by controlling a flow of water through the turbine; adjusting the adjustable positioning device to adjust a position of the machine tool with respect to the collector ring; and performing the machining operation on the collector ring at the specified rotational speed of the turbine shaft.

Abstract: This invention relates to methods and materials for slip ring grinding of a generator rotor, without the need of dismounting the slip ring from the rotor of the generator, and allowing the grinding process to be performed whilst the generator is on full-load operation. As such the methods and materials of the present invention differs from current solution. Whilst allowing on-line grinding of the slip ring, the current solutions require low-speed rotations and accordingly operational shutdown of the generator. Allowing on-load grinding, the present invention greatly shortens the downtime of the generator and to perform maintenance on the slip ring beyond the provided standard maintenance schedule.

Abstract: The trailer light harness cleaner includes a plunger that is affixed to an insert, which slides back and forth within an outer sleeve. The insert includes at least one sanding element that is adapted to sand against an electrical terminal of a trailer light harness. The insert is either male-oriented or female-oriented so as to adaptively clean either a male or female light harness. The sleeve is adapted to interface with a light harness, whereas the insert is able to slide back and forth in order for the at least one sanding element to adaptively clean terminals associated with the respective light harness.
Abstract: In an electrical device, in particular a power tool, equipped with a commutator motor, and in an accessory for an electrical device of this kind, a carbon brush shape adapting device is an integral component of the electrical device or of the accessory.
Abstract: A surface of a commutator 5 is rubbed by a shakedown brush 21 other than ordinary brushes 11 to produce a carbon coat, whereby a shakedown process can be reduced or abolished.
Abstract: An adapter apparatus for use with a power operated surface preparation device comprising an upper cap positioned on a first end of a stainless steel spring and a lower cap positioned on a second end of the spring. The center of the upper cap has a threaded opening and the center of the lower cap has a threaded opening wherein a shaft of the power tool is fastened to the upper cap and a shaft of a disk is fastened to the center of the lower cap. The power device rotates at speeds up to 10,000 RPMs and the disk on the lower end adapter of the apparatus maintains close contact with a work surface while an operator exerts minimum force only to guide the power device from area to area and not to maintain the disk touching the work surface.
