According to the characteristics of the module electrode, the angle grinding device is matched with the workbench to implement simultaneous electrode disconnecting operation of multiple electrodes of the module, so that the device not only has higher efficiency and better cutting effect, but also is suitable for universal saw blades, saves the cost, and is safer.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to roll polishers that may be utilized with rollers in rolling stands that have restrictive space requirements. The roll polisher of the present invention comprises a tube with pivot actuators used to engage and disengage a rolling pad on the surface of a roller. Transverse actuators may be located at least partially within the tube, or in other embodiments located outside of the tube, and used to move the tube, and thus, the rolling pad, transversely back and forth across the surface of the roller. The roll polisher may operate apply a force to the pad engaging the rolling surface to remove defects and smooth the surface of the polisher.

    Abstract: A hard machining process uses a cylindrical tool (21) of ceramic or other hard machining material of comparatively low cost that provides a circular cutting edge to be engaged in cutting relation with hardened workpiece (20) to be machined. As tool cutting edge wear occurs, the tool (21) is rotated through a small angle to bring into contact with the workpiece (20) a fresh portion of the cutting edge. It is not necessary to rotate that tool (21) sufficiently to effect replacement of the entire cutting edge portion in engagement with the tool. Sufficient angular movement of the tool is made to replace that of the cutting edge that has the greatest effect on the finish of the machined workpiece (20), which is the cutting location where the removed chip is thinnest.

    Abstract: A grinding head unit is constituted by a grinding wheel, a drive device for rotating the grinding wheel, and a movement device for moving the grinding wheel. When vibration of a mill roll is applied to the grinding wheel, a plain wheel integral with an abrasive layer of the grinding wheel and having an elastically deforming function is deflected to absorb the vibration energy. The contact force between the abrasive layer and the mill roll is measured for determining a profile of the mill roll. The mill roll can be thereby ground into a target profile while absorbing the vibration transmitted from the mill roll and measuring the profile of the mill roll, without causing any chattering marks.

    Abstract: Accessories for an angle grinder include a tool comprising a rotary disk having releasably attached to its surface, an annular attachment having a cutting or abrading, (“shaping”), surface, and rest means in a rest zone for supporting the grinder on a surface to be shaped. The rest means may be a non-rotating nose beneath the grinder; a rubbing contact mounted on a flat tool or simply part of the surface of a convex tool. Tilting the grinder about the rest means gives effective control of the tool. Steeper tilts cause the cutting or abrading surface to bite more deeply into the surface to be shaped. The grinder is preferably stroked toward the user with the cutting or abrading zone trailing. Most disks are perforated. Work to be shaped can be seen through the spinning disk during use. The annular attachment can have a variety of cutting or abrading surfaces.

    Abstract: A card clothing is mounted on a support and rotatable therewith about an axis. A grinding apparatus for the card clothing has an abrasive grinding element, a base juxtaposed with the card clothing, and an elastic biasing element for pressing the grinding element radially of the axis against the card clothing so that when the support and card clothing are rotating the element grinds the card clothing. The grinding element is displaceable radially outward away from the card clothing against a force of the biasing element from a grinding position engaging the card clothing to a rest position out of contact with the card clothing. The apparatus has a mechanism for withdrawing the grinding element against the force of the biasing element into the rest position and for retaining it in the rest position. An abutment is provided furthermore for defining a position of closest approach of the grinding element to the axis and hence, how much it will grind down the card clothing.

Devices (29) for conditioning the outer peripheral chill surfaces of the casting rolls includes grit blasting nozzles (30A, 30B, 30C, 30D), a collection trough (32) for gathering the grit, a line (34) for recycling the grit to a bag house (36), a feeder (38) and a pressurized distributor (40) for delivering the grit to the nozzles. The conditioning nozzles remove dirt, metal oxides and surface imperfections providing a clean surface readily wetted by the melt.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for on-site dressing and truing of rubber-covered cylinders mounted within sanding machines. The grinding apparatus comprises a base having a pneumatic cylinder mounted thereon for imparting oscillating or reciprocating movement to an abrasive plate which extends back and forth along the length of the rubber-covered cylinder during the dressing and truing procedure. The grinding apparatus removes the necessary amount of rubber compound from the rubber-covered cylinder upon which it acts until the rubber-covered cylinder is perfectly round, and the grinding apparatus is then removed from the sanding machine. In this fashion, the apparatus and method of the invention provide for on-site dressing and truing of rubber-covered cylinders of sanding machines without the necessity for conventional removal of the rubber-covered cylinders for dressing and truing.
