Air Directed Between Double Paned Window Patents (Class 454/122)
  • Patent number: 11904658
Abstract: A ventilation device for the inside of a motor vehicle, having at least one air outflow element and at least one associated directional element. The at least one air outflow element is provided in a functional arrangement with an air channel element. The air channel element represents the connection to a supply device as part of an air conditioning system. At least one light element is also provided. The arrangement of the at least one directional element and the at least one air outflow element work together so that the ventilation device can be continuously adjusted at least between two inside ventilation conditions. The at least two ventilation conditions respectively differ at least by means of a direction of outflowing air directed directly into the inside and directed indirectly along a roof liner designed for this reason in relation to a seat region of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8099916
Abstract: A unidirectional valve for venting moisture from a window having at least two panes or lights, the panes or lights defining an air space therebetween, is provided. The valve includes: an elongated body having an interior passage formed lengthwise therein, wherein at least a portion of the elongated body is adapted to be inserted directly through a window pane and into the air space formed between the panes; at least one resilient plate pivotally connected to the elongated body; wherein the resilient plate moves in response to changes in fluid pressure within the air space formed between the panes of the window, and wherein the movement of the plate opens the interior passage for allowing moisture-laden air to pass therethrough and out of the air space or closes the interior passage for preventing air from flowing back into the air space between the panes.

  • Patent number: 8043147
Abstract: A vitreous system of the invention is provided for use particularly as windowpanes of a car or the like vehicle, and is always kept clean over its whole surface. A multi-layer vitreous body ‘A’ forming the system is composed of an outside glass plate (1), an inside glass plate (2) and a stratified air space (3) defined between the inside and outside plates. A number of jetting orifices (1a) are formed to penetrate the outside plate (1), and a compressor (5) is connected through a piping (4) to the air space (3) so as to charge it with a compressed air, so that this air is blown out through the orifices (1a).

  • Patent number: 6520567
Abstract: A vehicle window ventilation system of this invention contains vertical slots in forward portions of the window or frame. Air due to vehicle movement passes in the slots to the cavity between the windowpanes. There is a passage for airflow from the cavity rearward to the door handle where there is spacing for outward passage of air. The forward location of the vertical slots allows for the flow of air across a wide area of the windows and hence a minimum reduction of visibility due to moisture in the cavity. The air passageway rearward through the cavity between the windows and then through the door to the rearward located door handle allows for a dispersion pattern of air that covers a large amount of the surface area of the double pane window. While an external fan could be used to enhance the removal of flow of air the forward location of the vertical slots and the rearward location of the inner door passageway to the door handle alleviates the necessity of having a fan.

  • Patent number: 6171184
Abstract: A window system for defrosting the windows of a vehicle comprises a windshield assembly having first and second spaced-apart panes of glass with an interlayer of air space therebetween. A frame surrounds the panes and maintains the air space therebetween. An inlet extends through the bottom wall of the frame for entry of air between the windshield panes. An outlet extends through a side wall of the frame for discharging air from between the windshield panes. The system also includes a plurality of window assemblies, each window assembly including first and second panes with an air space therebetween. An inlet extends through one side of the window frame for entry of air between the window panes. An outlet extends through an opposed side of the window frame for discharge of the air therefrom. The inlets and outlets of the windshield and window assemblies are positioned such that air may freely pass between adjacent assemblies through channels extending through vehicle support posts.
