Air Directed At Window Exterior Patents (Class 454/123)
  • Patent number: 11091128
Abstract: A system to clean windshields using pneumatic pressure including a blower assembly and a vent assembly is disclosed herein. The blower assembly comprises a plurality of self-contained blowers including an intake duct and an exhaust duct mounted within a vehicle. The self-contained blowers carry air through air ducts to the vent assembly mounted to the exterior of the vehicle. The air supplied from the plurality of self-contained blowers dry the windshields of water and debris without obscuring the vision of a driver within the vehicle. Additionally, the vent assembly includes a front windshield vent, a rear windshield vent and side window vents mounted onto the exterior of a vehicle. The system creates an invisible air curtain to act as a barrier to prevent any rain, snow, or debris of any type to come in contact with the windshields of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8483883
Abstract: A variable-air-volume system for modulating the speed of a supply fan by measuring a plurality of inlet static pressures within the inlet of a corresponding plurality of terminal boxes within the system; calculating a plurality of setpoint errors equal to the difference between the plurality of inlet static pressures and a corresponding plurality of terminal box setpoint pressures; selecting minimum setpoint error out of all of the calculated setpoint errors; and modulating the fan speed as a function of the minimum setpoint error. The system can also utilize a power adjustment factor to modify the terminal box set point pressures.

  • Patent number: 7798658
Abstract: A vehicle heating system employs a vehicle rearview mirror outer case that defines a cavity within which a mirror resides. A vehicle rearview mirror inner case may define a cavity and the rearview mirror inner case may reside within the rearview mirror outer case. A mirror surface or mirror structure, such as glass or plastic, may reside against the rearview mirror inner case to enclose the inner case, with the exception of air inlet and outlet tubes. A rearview mirror inlet tube may pass through the outer case and the inner case and permit air to enter the rearview mirror inner case. A rearview mirror outlet tube that passes through the outer case and the inner case may permit air to exit the rearview mirror inner case. An HVAC unit attaches to the rearview mirror inlet tube to blow air into the rearview mirror outer case or inner case.

  • Patent number: 5916022
Abstract: A defroster assembly uses heat from an engine's exhaust to heat the exterior of a windshield and the wipers thereon. The assembly comprises an air intake mechanism shared with the engine's air filter. The air intake mechanism leads to air ducts spaced from the engine block. Nodes in the air ducts encircle exhaust outlet pipes leading from the engine so that heat of the engine exhaust is transferred to air in the ducts. The assembly includes a vent subassembly for directing a stream of air in a laminar flow along the windshield. A fan of the assembly draws air from the ducts and forces it through the vent subassembly.

  • Patent number: 5868867
Abstract: Disclosed is a device to remove moisture from a side view mirror and adjacent side window of a vehicle. The device increases mirror clarity and can be installed on a side view mirror housing at the factory or as an after factory installation. The device prevents moisture from interfering with the operator's visual use of the mirror by utilizing the cleansing effects of existing air flow about the mirror housing during vehicle movement when it redirects the air flow past the mirror surface. The device also uses the air flow to prevent the build up of moisture on the adjacent side window of the vehicle. The device can be adapted to accommodate any existing vehicle mirror design that is incorporated into the door frame or in close proximity. The device is a semi-rigid mirror attachment that mounts on the mirror housing without obstructing the operator's field of vision.
