Having Perforated Or Slotted Duct Contacting Crop Patents (Class 454/175)
  • Patent number: 11465833
Abstract: An assembly for saturating or aerating a medium with fluid. At least one hollow cylinder having gates and vents embedded within a grain mass. A target section of grain mass is identified and the gates and vents activated to provide influent flow to the target section in both vertical and horizontal directions.

  • Publication number: 20110306286
Abstract: An aeration duct apparatus for a grain bin has an air chamber with louvered side walls, which comprise a plurality of wall slats that extend the length of the chamber and slope from inner side edges thereof downward and outward to outer side edges thereof, and are spaced apart to form air gaps between adjacent slats. The slats prevent grain from flowing through the air gaps into the air chamber. In one embodiment the outer side edge of each slat is closer to a center of the air chamber than the outer side edge of an adjacent slat below, and farther from the center than the outer side edge of an adjacent slat above, such that the right and left louvered side walls each slope inward toward the center of the air chamber from lower edges thereof to upper edges thereof. The duct is well suited to hopper bottom bins.

  • Publication number: 20110183597
Abstract: A ventilation system for ventilating particulate materials disposed in a storage bin is provided. The ventilation system comprises an extendable elongated hollow body for being disposed in proximity of a center of the storage bin and oriented substantially vertical. The body comprises a plurality of body sections and when extended has a length approximately equal to a distance between a bottom portion of the storage bin and a top portion of the storage bin. The body has a plurality of apertures such that airflow between inside and outside the body is enabled while transmission of the particulate materials into the body is substantially prevented. A holding mechanism is mounted to the body and to at least one of the top portion and the bottom portion of the storage bin.

  • Patent number: 6336299
Abstract: A storage floor air vent may comprise at least two vent walls positioned in substantially parallel relation to thereby define a channel; a plurality of angular baffle members, each angular baffle member composed of two segments forming an apex therebetween; the plurality of angular baffle members positioned in between the at least two vent walls in a linear arrangement, with each apex facing upward proximal the top end of each of the at least two vent walls, and each angular baffle member is positioned a distance apart from the adjacent angular baffle member to thereby define an orifice between the segment ends of adjacent angular baffle members.

  • Patent number: 5789007
Abstract: A ripening room for controlled ripening of produce includes a chamber defined by a ceiling, a floor, and a plurality of walls connecting the ceiling and the floor. The chamber is configured to receive two rows of boxed produce that are spaced apart from each other to define an interstitial volume therebetween. Each row of produce is proximate and spaced apart from one of the walls to define a side airspace therebetween. The ripening room also includes an air control system for transferring air between the side airspaces and the interstitial volume and controlling the temperature of the transferred air. The side airspaces and the interstitial volume are generally enclosed to inhibit airflow therebetween except for airflow through the air control system and through openings in the produce boxes.

  • Patent number: 5632674
Abstract: A grain bin structure for storing, conditioning, and drying grain having a floor, side walls, and a roof. The side walls are formed with a plurality of horizontal and vertical corrugations formed integrally therein and within a common circumferential plane. The vertical corrugations function as stiffeners and as vertical air conduits to dispense pressurized air about the periphery of the bin. Optionally, conduit tubes may be located within the vertically disposed corrugations to further channel air flow. These conduits are formed with an inner wall substantially flush with the interior of the horizontal corrugation, thereby maintaining a low silhouette while maximizing a cross-sectional area within each conduit to avoid undue restriction of air flow.
