  • Patent number: 9937768
Abstract: An air conditioning device for vehicle has guide plates that guide a flow of air on a downstream side of a heating heat exchanger. In order to form a first path, the guide plates have a first guide that extends from a downstream wall surface of the heating heat exchanger and bends in an upward direction. Further, in order to hold a heat exchanger other than a cooling heat exchanger and the heating heat exchanger, the guide plates have a second guide that extends from an upper end part of the heating heat exchanger and bends in a downward direction. Furthermore, the guide plates have a third guide that extends from the first guide toward an end of the second guide.

  • Patent number: 8017278
Abstract: This invention provides a moving object having a fuel cell system, which is capable of preventing the entry of fuel gas into a cabin even if the leakage of the fuel gas occurs. The moving object, having the fuel cell system (1), has an air introduction mechanism (5) for introducing air from the outside of the moving object into a cabin space inside the moving object, wherein an air introduction port (50) for the air introduction mechanism (5) is formed a given distance apart from the fuel cell system (1), so that gas leaking from the fuel cell system (1) does not reach the air introduction port (50).

  • Publication number: 20100056033
Abstract: The present invention is a tailpipe exhaust nozzle device that can be used with a vehicle with a side exhaust pipe that attaches magnetically to a vehicle exhaust removal system. The exhaust pipe nozzle device is made up of a body ring portion, a male adaptor that is integral with the body ring portion forming a clamp groove. There is also a plurality of magnets disposed on the male adaptor for attachment to the vehicle exhaust pipe removal system and a polymeric boot on the bottom of the body ring portion. The exhaust pipe nozzle device may or may not be in the shape of a cylinder The device also includes a 90 degree stainless steel transition elbow and galvanized steel tailpipe adapter which is attached to the end of the vehicle tailpipe. There is also a vertical stack exhaust pipe embodiment of the device.

  • Publication number: 20010012756
Abstract: The invention relates to an air flap for a ventilation, heating or air conditioning system of a motor vehicle. The flap has a shut-off surface extending between two outer edges, each having a curved or vaulted profile. End sections of the first edge adjoin the end sections of the second edge, and the end sections are joined to a pivot axis. In order, in particular, to obtain a compact construction for the air conditioning system, the air flap preferably has a shape in which a first area (A) enclosed by the first, outer edge and the pivot axis is larger than a second area (B) enclosed by the second, outer edge and the pivot axis. An air flap of this type is used, in particular, as a fresh-air/circulating-air flap.

  • Patent number: 5732644
Abstract: The device is used in exhaust and ventilation systems on a ship which has a plurality of exhaust and ventilation ducts. The exhaust and ventilation ducts connect the ship's operating systems with the environment. There are retaining elements for the three-dimensional fastening of the exhaust and ventilation ducts. The exhaust and ventilation ducts are mounted in a support frame. The support frame is self-supporting and can be inserted in a vertical shaft on the ship. The support frame has a height which essentially equals the vertical length of the exhaust and ventilation ducts, and extends, starting from the shipboard propulsion system, through a plurality of ship's decks, to a stack end piece.

  • Patent number: 5722235
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to an exhaust gas back pressure attenuator for truck exhaust stacks. In particular, the present invention is directed toward an improved exhaust gas deflector that reduces the back pressure within the vertical tubular exhaust stacks of over-the-road type tractor-trailer trucks. At highway speeds a number of factors may operate to make it difficult for the engine to force exhaust gas out of the system and into the atmosphere. The present invention is attached to the top of the stack and is designed to create an aerodynamic low-pressure condition that in effect pulls the exhaust gas from the stack, thereby reducing back pressure buildup, decreasing the load on the engine, and increasing the fuel efficiency. A first embodiment of the present invention employs an air wedge to divide a first ambient air volume and cause it to pass on either side of the exhaust stack, thereby creating a pressure differential which operates to pull the exhaust gases thereout.

  • Patent number: 5588908
Abstract: A fitting for securing a hose to a port formed in a support panel. The fitting includes a face plate that is fitted over the port. A set of spaced apart lock tabs extend inwardly from the face plate. A set of fingers also extend inwardly from the face plate. The fingers are located adjacent to and diametrically outwardly from interstitial gaps between the lock tabs. The hose is secured around the lock tabs and in the interstitial gaps. When the hose-and-fitting assembly is secured in a port, the fingers both lock the fitting in position and compression secure the hose to the fitting.

  • Patent number: 5428957
Abstract: A device is disclosed for shutting off the flow of exhaust gases from the exhaust outlet of a diesel engine having a substantially vertical exhaust stack. The device is especially useful for stopping the flow from one of twin diesel stacks when a tractor or truck having twin stacks from a single manifold is undergoing maintenance in an indoor facility. The device permits an operator standing on the floor to position a resilient pad in sealing engagement with a stack outlet twelve feet or more above floor level and lock the pad into position and to remove the device, again from ground level, when maintenance has been completed and the engine shut down.

  • Patent number: 5358442
Abstract: A telescopic double wall air intake device having an antenna including an air intake canister attached to one end of the antenna and an air plenum arranged on the other end of the antenna. The air canister has disposable filtering material therein. The air plenum is attached to a frame of a car or other vehicle and carries the pneumatic or electric motor for moving the telescopic air intake device up and down. The air plenum may also be connected to a radio and other communication devices. The inlet side of a high static air moving device, e.g., an air booster fan, is connected to the air plenum via a flexible duct. The discharge side of the booster fan is connected to a second air plenum, e.g., an air mixing plenum, via a flexible metal air duct. The air mixing plenum has three connection ports, two of which are used for inlet flows and one of which is for discharge flow. The inlet ports are provided with check valves.
