Patent number: 11835260Abstract: A door includes an air purifying assembly is secured to the door for filtering air flowing through the door. The air purifying assembly includes an outer housing, a fan housing in the outer housing, a filter housing secured to the outer housing, a filter in the filter housing, and a fan in the fan housing for providing a flow of air through the fan, fan housing, and out of the outer housing and outwardly through the door for purifying air. A plurality of doors in a structure, and an air purifying assembly in each door in the structure may purify the air in the structure. With a forced air unit for the structure, the air from the plurality of doors is discharged to the return air space and recirculating the purified air from rooms which include the doors having air purifying assemblies. Both an air purifying door structure and a method of purifying air in a structure utilizing the air purifying doors are included as claims.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2022Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Inventor: Jerry G. Patent number: 8221201Abstract: A ventilation device for ventilation of a building having a double-window construction with an air space. The device communicates with the open air space and has four throttles. The first and the second throttles can selectively cut off the passage of air from the air space into a first and a second chamber, respectively, of the device. The third throttle can selectively cut off the passage of air from the first chamber and into the building. The fourth throttle can selectively cut off the passage of air between the open air space and the first and the second chamber. Temperature-sensitive actuators can activate the throttles, selectively adjusting air flow.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2005Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Inventors: Poul Christensen, Jens Arboe Harild, Soren Møller Madsen, Niels Herskind

Publication number: 20100159817Abstract: The ventilation device (10) comprises a first plate (11) having a first set of apertures (16), and a second plate (21) having a second set of apertures (26) separated by cover portions (27). The first and second plates are slidable with respect to each other. The cover portions (27) have dimensions differing from the dimensions of the first set of apertures (16). Furthermore, the dimensions of the cover portions vary along said first direction (x) and/or in a second direction (y) perpendicular to the first direction to provide a visual indication of the degree of ventilation area achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2006Publication date: June 24, 2010Inventor: Claes Lindgren

Publication number: 20100022180Abstract: A ventilated window arrangement includes a window and a window frame. The window frame includes an outer side and an inner side, an opening from the outer side to the inner side in which the window is mounted, and a ventilator passage extending from the outer side to the inner side. The ventilated window arrangement also includes a ventilator panel attached to the frame and movable from a closed position in which the ventilator panel seals the ventilator passage to an open position in which fluid communication between the outer side and the inner side is permitted.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2007Publication date: January 28, 2010Applicant: Volvo Trucks North America, Inc.Inventors: Kevin Barry Nutt, Srikanth Sundaresh Ghantae, Martin John Phillips, Glyn Haugh

Patent number: 7641545Abstract: An airflow window system that includes at least three glazing layers positioned roughly parallel to each other to define at least two internal airflow cavities within the window system. A first of the glazing layers is adjacent a first of the airflow cavities, a second of the glazing layers is adjacent a second of the airflow cavities, and a center glazing layer is between the first and second glazing layers and separates the first and second airflow cavities. Airflow cavity openings are located adjacent the uppermost and lowermost extents of each airflow cavity, and airflow is enabled through the first airflow cavity between the openings thereof and enabled through the second airflow cavity between the openings thereof. The window system operates as a crossflow heat exchanger capable of supplying fresh outdoor air to an enclosed indoor space, while thermally tempering the incoming fresh air with outgoing indoor air.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2007Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Purdue Research FoundationInventors: Qingyan Chen, Jennifer R. Patent number: 7393271Abstract: A slot ventilator including a housing and a closure member. The housing includes a face with an airflow opening defined in said face. When the closure member is in a first position, the closure member abuts against the face and generally closes the airflow opening. When the closure member is in a second position, the closure member is offset from the face and the airflow opening is generally unobstructed by the closure member. The housing further provides a drive mechanism for displacing the closure member from the housing.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2005Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: Enclos CorporationInventor: Daniel R.
