  • Patent number: 11624561
Abstract: A heating and/or cooling temperature adjusting apparatus disposed proximate a point of use comprising a heat exchange structure, at least one thermal mass unit comprised of a material which changes phase at a predetermined temperature, and a housing which at least partially encloses the heat exchange structure and thermal mass unit. Additionally, a plurality of thermal mass units can be employed, each with equivalent, or differing, temperature threshold points for conversion between solid, liquid or gaseous phases. The presence of the thermal mass unit at the point of use allows for the heating/cooling system to rapidly adjust the temperature of the room while simultaneously decreasing the duty cycle of the heating/cooling generator (e.g. boiler).

  • Patent number: 11364768
Abstract: An inlet subassembly for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The inlet subassembly includes a fresh air inlet and a fresh air door movable to control fresh airflow through the fresh air inlet. The inlet subassembly further includes a recirculation air inlet and a partition defining a first airflow channel and a second airflow channel extending from the recirculation air inlet. A recirculation air door is adjacent to the recirculation air inlet and is movable to a closed position restricting recirculated airflow into both the first airflow channel and the second airflow channel, an open position permitting recirculated airflow into both the first airflow channel and the second airflow channel, and a two-layer position in which the recirculation air door restricts recirculated airflow into the first airflow channel and permits recirculated airflow into the second airflow channel.

  • Patent number: 8740392
Abstract: An electricity storage section that stores power from an external power source and supplies the stored power as operating power is provided, and, when an interruption of the external power source to a projection display device is detected, control to reduce the power consumption of a device main body and control to drive an exhaust port shutter so that it is closed by the power supplied from the electricity storage section are performed.

  • Patent number: 6571522
Abstract: The covering system includes at least one panel capable of being placed in an inclined position with respect to a horizontal. The panel incudes an inner chamber, a plurality of suction apertures through which the inner chamber communicates with a void inside of a building, and a discharge aperture disposed at a level higher than the suction apertures when the panel is installed.

  • Patent number: 6346041
Abstract: The present invention is an economizer that is capable of mixing outside air and inside air while incurring a significantly low pressure drop across the return air damper. In one embodiment, the economizer comprises a mixing chamber, a return air vent, and an outside air vent. The economizer further comprises a plurality of curved return air dampers moveable from an open position to a closed position to control the flow of return air to the mixing chamber. The economizer further comprises a plurality of straight dampers moveable from an open position to a closed position to control the flow of outside air to the mixing chamber. During operation of the economizer, a significantly lower pressure drop exists across the curved return air dampers than in conventional economizers thereby reducing the amount of energy needed to operate fans to maintain the desired air flow.

  • Patent number: 6241601
Abstract: A mixer for first and second fluids, e.g. fresh air and return air respectively, has an outlet for the first fluid which is contiguous to outlet for the second fluid. A first flap is able to move from a position wherein the fresh air outlet is closed to a position wherein the fresh air outlet is open. A second flap is able to move from a position wherein the return air outlet is closed to a position wherein the return air outlet is open. The first and second flaps are connected to move in unison from a position wherein the fresh air outlet is open and the return air outlet is closed to a position wherein the fresh air outlet is closed and the return air outlet is open. Preferably, there is a plurality of alternating fresh air and return air outlets, and the first and second flaps are fixedly joined substantially at right angles to one another.
