Having Readily Movable Air Current Regulating Means Patents (Class 454/27)
  • Patent number: 11732906
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an air conditioner. The air conditioner includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet, and having a first guide surface forming the outlet and a second guide surface facing the first guide surface provided therein, a heat exchanger configured to heat-exchange air suctioned through the inlet, a blower fan configured to suction air from the inlet, heat-exchange the air by passing air through the heat exchanger, and discharge air toward the outlet, and an airflow control unit provided to be movable between a first position adjacent to one end portion of the outlet from which air is discharged and a second position spaced apart from the end portion of the outlet from which air is discharged, and protruding from the first guide surface or the second guide surface when the airflow control unit placed at the first position ? .

  • Patent number: 10267533
Abstract: A goose neck style vent has a base that registers with a surface opening of a building, and upstanding walls which form a portion of a curved air flow pathway above the vent opening. A top portion of the vent registers with the base to complete the curved air flow pathway and define an air outlet opening. The top includes a screen that hinges to cover the air outlet opening. A flapper valve is positioned across the curved air flow pathway and is hinged to the base at one end. The opposite free end of the flapper valve is urged to a closed position by gravity and to an open position by air pressure from below. An upstanding air deflecting baffle extends above the free end of the flapper, and limits air gusts passing through the screen and under the free end of the flapper valve.

  • Patent number: 7566355
Abstract: A device is described which may be fashioned to be installed over an existing unprotected intermittently acting vent pipe of a building, from which malodorous internal air from bathrooms, kitchens, areas where cigar or cigarette smoking ensues and the like, are expelled. It is made from a length of pipe of slightly larger circumference than the existing vent pipe and is stably attached at its lower end to the upper end of the vent pipe. A hinged cap of the same geometric shape as the pipe but of slightly larger dimension is attached at its upper end.

  • Patent number: 7549258
Abstract: An adjustable housing assembly for mounting to a wall is disclosed. The assembly generally includes a back plate having a flange that defines an axis extending perpendicularly from the back plate and a front plate disposed in parallel relationship to the back plate. A connector connects the plates in the parallel relationship at various distances longitudinally along the axis. The connector includes co-acting male and female components extending circumferentially about the axis and at least one of the male and female components is spaced longitudinally along the axis for connecting the plates at any one of the various distances in response to relative rotation between the male and female components about the axis. The connector may also include a mounting ring separate from the back plate and the front plate that couples the front plate to the back plate. The mounting ring allows for additional distances to be obtained between the front plate and the back plate.

  • Patent number: 6890252
Abstract: A fume hood exhaust stack system (10) and method utilize a variable speed fan (24) and an exhaust stack (28) having an adjustable cross-sectional area. Toxic exhaust from one or more fume hoods (12) is conveyed through a header (16) to the fan. The fan forces the exhaust through the exhaust stack, and the exhaust is then discharged into the atmosphere at a sufficient velocity and momentum to ensure that the exhaust reaches an environmentally sound altitude. A variable speed drive (36), programmable controller (34), flow signals (26), and static pressure and total pressure signals (20) are utilized to modulate the speed of the fan and the area of the exhaust stack to maintain the desired fan inlet pressure and exhaust velocity.
