  • Patent number: 7189158
Abstract: A dual airflow control system for an environment having a first air zone and a second air zone. The system includes a first input device operable to generate a first input signal indicative of a desired airflow to the first zone and a second input device operable to generate a second input signal indicative of a desired airflow to the second zone. First and second flow regulators are configured to regulate airflow to the first and second zones, respectively, such that the first and second regulators selectively provide the airflow to each of the first and second zones based on the first and second input signals. A single actuator is associated with the first and second flow regulators. The actuator is operable to simultaneously actuate the first and second flow regulators based on an input from the first and second input devices to allow the desired airflows to the first and the second zones.

  • Patent number: 6511373
Abstract: An energy efficient air distribution system placed within the conditioned space of a building comprising a duct having an interior volume for conducting air. One of the exterior surfaces may have an ornamental design providing the impression the device is actually cornice molding. At least one recess is positioned along the exterior surface of the duct, such that it is obscured from view by a viewer standing within an occupancy zone of a room. An outlet is positioned within the recess for directing a flow of air from the duct interior volume through the exterior surface. The duct serves a function of conducting air throughout the room, and also has an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Junction boxes may be placed within the conditioned space for connecting the ducts. Junction boxes may further include an ornamental exterior for a pleasing aesthetic appearance.

  • Patent number: 5181884
Abstract: A ventilating device is removably placed on a baseboard heater having a heated air exit along the top front edge thereof. The ventilating device has a marginal slot forwardly extending above the air exit of the heater and has a blower fan sucking air from the marginal slot and expelling it through apertures in the upper front portion of the ventilating device. The front wall of the ventilating device extends below the top of the heater to prevent unheated ambient air from entering the fan. The blower fan is made of drums with end walls having fan blades and with air outlets around the periphery and with shield members around the drums so as to direct the air in the desired direction. The ventilating device is preferably provided with an air filter and a water reservoir and a water supply which may be removably mounted in the housing of the ventilating device.
