  • Patent number: 7540169
Abstract: A cold air supply and control device for a refrigerator is provided. The cold air supply and control device includes a cylindrical, duct main body having an inlet that allows cold air generated in a heat exchange chamber to be introduced thereinto and an outlet that supplies the cold air introduced through the inlet to a refrigerating chamber. The duct main body is pivotably installed to at least one of both side surfaces of the refrigerating chamber. An opening and closing piece is fixed to the side surface of the refrigerating chamber and selectively opens and closes the outlet according to a rotation of the duct main body. An interlocking plate formed below the outlet of the duct main body rotates the duct main body by a load of a shelf so as to open the outlet. In addition, a torsion spring is installed between a surface of the refrigerating chamber and a front or rear surface of the duct main body, and elastically supports the duct main body in a direction in which the outlet is closed.

  • Patent number: 6019677
Abstract: Modular terminals for supplying conditioned air to spaces within buildings can be mounted and configured to provide improved heating, cooling, ventilation, and mixing of the supplied air with the space air. The flexibility in arranging the modular terminal components, such as air inlets, outlet grilles, dampers, and induction sleeves, permits for selectively altering the flow pattern, quality, volume, and velocity of air introduced into a space. The modular terminals can selectively draw air from a plenum, duct, or both. The terminals accommodate electrical wiring for office equipment, and also may accept flexible ducting to deliver conditioned air from a desktop or other furniture. The modular terminals also are part of a system and method for conditioning building spaces whereby a number of terminals are controlled in response to selected sensor readings. Various air handling units combine with the terminals to cycle the air and supply a source of filtered and conditioned air to the terminals.

  • Patent number: 5147243
Abstract: In an air terminal having an inflatable bellows expanding toward a pair of spaced cut-off plates, a sealing element is attached to the central portion of that side of the bellows adjacent to the cut-off plates. The transversely extending ends of the sealing element are not secured to the bellows but are free to separate therefrom as the bellows is expanded to thereby more easily engage the cut-off plates. A pair of foam strips are provided near the transverse ends of the sealing element so as to thereby provide a substantially normally extending surface against which the flowing air will impinge so as to thereby reduce the sound emanating therefrom. A pair of vibration damper clips extend from the cut-off plates and engage the foam strips to prevent any vibration thereof. Pads are secured to the edges of the cut-off plates so as to engage the seal element then thereby enhancing the sealing relationship between the cut-off plates and the seal element.

  • Patent number: 5145460
Abstract: A gasket assembly for use with a ventilation control apparatus in a building ventilation system in a building. The building ventilation system includes inlet and outlet vents and a fan. A plurality of generally narrow continuous openings are formed in a ceiling portion of the building for introducing a ventilating air flow from a first chamber into a second chamber of the building. Air flow through each opening is selectively controlled by a movable baffle device for regulating air flow through the opening into the building. The movable baffle devices are positioned over a ventilation subject, for example a livestock cage, to cooperatively create a desired ventilating air flow pattern in combination with neighboring movable baffle devices. The gasket assembly is employed with the movable baffle device to provide an extremely uniform yet suitably fresh minimum air flow through the building. The gasket assembly includes a dam portion and a curtain portion.
