Abstract: A device providing automatic control of temperature for an environment of a working station includes an air box, a baffle member, and a driving assembly. The air box is coupled to a machine defining a working space which the working station is in. The air box defines an opening. The opening allows cooling air to be introduced into the working space. The baffle member is slidably coupled to the air box at the opening. The driving assembly coupled to the baffle member drives the baffle member to cover the opening completely, to cover the opening partially, or to leave the opening uncovered in accordance with a difference between a current temperature of the working space and a desired target temperature of the working space. A related system and method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11060616
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for adjusting the flow of a fluid within a conduit, comprising a slide plate with a flat body and a fixed plate with a flat body. The slide plate and fixed plate have openings on their bodies. At a fully closed position, the openings of the slide plate do not substantially overlap with the openings of the fixed plate. By rotation of an actuator shaft and drive pin disposed thereon, the slide plate may move relative to the fixed plate, whereby the openings of the slide plate begin overlapping with the opening of the fixed plate, thereby allowing flow of fluid through the openings. Sequentially or independently from the movement of the slide plate, rotation of the actuator shaft may cause the fixed plate to rotate relative to the walls of the conduit, whereby flow of fluid may pass through the opening between the conduit and fixed plate assembly.

Abstract: An HVAC damper includes a sheet metal frame surrounding a series of pivotal damper blades that are each supported by a pair of plastic bearing members. Each bearing member is a unitary piece that includes a radial bearing, a thrust bearing, a lug for connecting to a damper blade, a shaft-receiving feature for connecting to a drive shaft, and multiple crank pins for selectively connecting to a drive linkage. Choosing which crank pin gets connected to the linkage determines a damper blade's rotational direction relative to the other damper blades. Adjacent damper blades preferably rotate in opposite directions to ensure positive sealing engagement between their adjacent blade tips. The bearing members allow the drive linkage to be installed outside the frame to avoid obstructing the airflow through the damper. During assembly, the bearing members allow the damper blades to be placed within the frame prior to installing the bearing members.

Abstract: A high pressure air supply duct is terminated by a termination receptacle defining a cylindrical housing with an inlet pipe connected to the duct and generally at right angles to the axis. The housing has one end closed and a mounting flange member at the open end for attachment of the housing to a mounting surface. A generally cylindrical damper sleeve has an open discharge end connected to a vent plate and an insertion portion extending to the bottom of the housing for receiving the air therefrom. The vent plate has a plate portion with a central perforated discharge area which is perforated for the passage of air therethrough and a peripheral surrounding flange and can be rotated about the axis of the housing to rotate the damper sleeve. The damper sleeve has a projecting notch engaging into a slot in the housing to hold it in place.

  • Patent number: 6302785
Abstract: An improved foundation vent with increased net free area is provided. The foundation vent has a frame that surrounds and defines an opening and a grill supported by the frame and spanning the opening. The grill has an inside face disposed on the inside of a crawlspace when the vent is mounted in a foundation wall and an outside face disposed on the outside of the crawlspace. A mesh screen is mounted to the frame and spans the opening adjacent the inside face of the grill. The grill is provided with projecting standoffs that support the screen at a predetermined distance from the inside face of the grill to form a plenum between the screen and the grill. A raised peripheral rim is provided on the frame and supports the peripheral portion of the screen. The spacing of the screen from the inside face of the grill and the plenum formed thereby unblocks the portions of the screen that otherwise would be blocked by the members of the grill and thus increases the net free area of the foundation vent.
