The vent line cap includes an open bottom conically flared shroud that attaches to the vent line using a mounting strap having an adjustable strap clamp fastener and a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is fastened at its top to the shroud and at the bottom to the strap clamp. The vent line cap is designed to be easily installed and removed using common hand tools. The vent line cap prevents foreign material from entering the vent line and subjacent plumbing while still allowing air to flow from the vent line as well as preventing rain water from entering sewer system.

You may attach this cap as low as 12? to the ground and it can face either horizontal or vertical. The cap increases the flow dynamic by creating a low pressure area at the exit of the vent pipe.     Abstract: A chimney cap for installation on a chimney, comprising a lid assembly, a bracket for supporting the lid assembly, and revolving clamps pivotally connected to the bracket for releasable attachment to various dimensions of chimney flue tiles. The clamps are pivotable for rotation between a first position for accommodating a first dimension of chimney flue tiles and a second position for accommodating a second dimension of chimney flue tiles, the second dimension being larger than the first dimension. The clamps each comprise at least two oppositely disposed spring loaded cam action toggles for gripping opposite sides of the chimney flue tiles irrespective of the thickness of the tiles.

    Abstract: A chimney cap to selectively cover the outlet from the flue of a chimney which includes an open frame of selected geometric configuration located at the top of the chimney flue around the outlet, a cap to substantially cover the opening defined by the frame, bias device to bias the cap to a position separated by the frame, where a seal is provided to seal the cap and the frame when the cap is located contiguous to the frame. A guide arrangement can be provided to guide the cap toward the frame to selectively locate the seal of the cap and seal surface of the frame. A draw device can be provided to pass through the chimney flue to allow the cap to be drawn to engagement with the frame and a latch can be provided to receive the draw device to hold the cap in engagement with the frame against the bias force.

    Abstract: A chimney cap and flue damper supported for vertical movement on the upper end of a chimney liner with an operating cable extending downwardly to the fireplace opening to effect opening and closing movement of a hollow insulation filled sheet metal closure member. The cap is supported by a support assembly having a plurality of radially expandable turnbuckles which are anchored in sockets formed in the chimney liner. The operating cable is provided with a removable weight which is sufficient to overcome a spring which holds the closure member in open position.
