Patent number: 4434507Abstract: A free standing transmitting microphone comprising a hollow holder for enclosing a transmitter and a microphone on a base. A cover of conductive material above the holder functions as an antenna for the transmitter. An acoustic pathway between the holder and the cover directs sounds to the microphone.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1982Date of Patent: February 28, 1984Assignee: Chevron Research CompanyInventor: Elmer L. Patent number: 4430757Abstract: The present invention relates to a radio signals transmitter. The transmitter according to the invention comprises a pulse train generator including a quartz oscillator, generating a high frequency signal which is provided to a transistor 7 controlled by the charge and the discharge of a condensor 5 acting on the voltage of its base. A train of A.C. frequency pulses is thereby produced. The generator is protected by a housing which is worn around the neck of the user by means of a chain forming a quarter wavelength antenna. The present invention is used as a portable distress signals transmitter for isolated persons, such as skiers, mountaineers or other people in difficulty.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1982Date of Patent: February 7, 1984Assignee: ElphoraInventor: Laszlo Szakvary

Patent number: 4403341Abstract: Emergency information communicating device is disclosed having a wireless transmission circuit, a switch means and a battery which are provided in a waterproof case body, a permanent magnet inserted in a slot defined in the case body for providing a magnetic field to actuate the switch means and an electrical conducting member acting as an antenna. By disengaging the permanent magnet from the case body, emergency information can be radiated from the antenna.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1982Date of Patent: September 6, 1983Inventor: Kiyoshi Hata

Patent number: 4344184Abstract: A wireless microphone which does not require a separate antenna. A wireless microphone in the form of an elongate housing of nonelectrical conducting material with a microphone unit mounted in one end of the housing and a battery and control switch mounted in the other end of the housing. A first electrical circuit including an audio amplifier and a second electrical circuit including a radio frequency amplifier are mounted in the housing physically separated from each other and interconnected by radio frequency chokes. The output of the radio frequency amplifier is connected to circuit ground of the audio amplifier, with the microphone unit and first circuit serving as one radiator of a dipole and with the battery and second circuit serving as the other radiator of the dipole.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1980Date of Patent: August 10, 1982Assignee: Cetec CorporationInventor: Robert R. Patent number: 4335375Abstract: A container for an alarm transmitter used in combination with components of a transmitter circuitry which includes voltage control for providing a gated voltage and controlled by a timing circuit. The components also include an audio multivibrator which is electrically coupled to the voltage control in order to receive the gated voltage, a microfork audio filter which is electrically coupled to the audio multivibrator and a modulator which is electrically coupled to the audio multivibrator. The components further include a radio frequency oscillator whose frequency is modulated by the modulator and which has an antenna electrically coupled to its output terminal. The container includes a tubular member which is adapted to be installed into a hole in a wall adjacent to a door or a window and an elongated, rectangular member adapted to be inserted into the tubular member and also adapted to have the components of the transmitter circuitry placed thereon.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1978Date of Patent: June 15, 1982Inventor: Daniel D. Schaeffer

Patent number: 4327444Abstract: There is disclosed a miniature hand-held radio-frequency transmitter. An operating frequency is determined by a lumped-circuit oscillator which feeds an antenna etched on the periphery of the circuit board. The antenna is tuned to a frequency which is slightly above the second harmonic of the operating frequency, it being the second harmonic which is radiated. By slightly mis-tuning the antenna, the effects of an enveloping hand are minimized. The clasping of the transmitter by a human hand results in the absorption of some of the radiated power, but hand-capacitance effects also shift the center frequency of the antenna characteristic toward the second harmonic of the operating frequency, thus increasing the radiated power. In this way the signaling range under free-space conditions is the same as that under operating conditions. The oscillator circuit can thus be adjusted for maximum power output under free-space conditions within the guidelines of F.C.C.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1979Date of Patent: April 27, 1982Assignee: TMX Systems LimitedInventor: Patrick R.
