  • Patent number: 11350458
Abstract: An information handling system includes a transceiver and a processor. The processor detects a first RF signal of the RF signals received by the transceiver from a first access point (AP), and determines whether an energy level for the first RF signal is above a energy level threshold. If so, the processor determines whether basic service set (BSS) color of the first RF signal is the same as BSS color of a second RF signal from a second AP. If not, the RF signal is coming from a different network. The processor calculates distance to the second AP, determines and configures receive sensitivity energy level threshold based on the calculated distance. If the energy level of the first RF signal is less than the receive sensitivity energy level threshold, the processor continues to receive RF signals from the second AP, and continue to reject RF signals from the interfering network.

  • Patent number: 9641537
Abstract: A computationally implemented method includes, but is not limited to: intercepting a communiqué that is determined to be affiliated with a source entity and that is addressed to an end user to prevent, at least temporarily, the communiqué from being received by a communication device associated with the end user; and releasing the communiqué to the communication device in response to at least detecting occurrence of one or more environmental aspects associated with the communication device, the releasing of the communiqué being in accordance with one or more conditional directives of the end user to conditionally obfuscate the communiqué determined to be affiliated with the source entity. In addition to the foregoing, other method aspects are described in the claims, drawings, and text forming a part of the present disclosure.

  • Patent number: 9578059
Abstract: A server interacts with a sender to form a package which can include one or more attached data files to be sent to one or more recipients, and the server applies a policy established by a policy authority of the sender to the package. Since the server both forms the package through interaction with the sender and applies the policy, violations of the policy by the package can be brought to the sender's attention during an interactive session with the sender and before encryption of all or part of the package. As a result, the sender is educated regarding the policy of the sender's policy authority, and the sender can modify the package immediately to comport with the policy. The server delivers the package to intended recipients by sending notification to each recipient and including package identification data, e.g., a URL by which the package can be retrieved.

Abstract: A data center includes an access controller with a short range wireless communication controller, and an access point with a long range wireless communication controller. The access point is coupled to the access controller via a secure link. The access controller, receives a security credential from a mobile device via the short range wireless communication controller, authenticates the mobile device, receives access information for the mobile device via the short range wireless communication controller in response to authenticating the mobile device, and provides the access information to the access point via the secure link. The access point uses the access information to connect to the mobile device via the long range wireless communication controller.

  • Patent number: 9526440
Abstract: An integrated catheter placement system for accurately placing a catheter within a patient's vasculature is disclosed. In one embodiment, the integrated system comprises a system console, a tip location sensor unit for temporary placement on the patient's chest, and an ultrasound probe. The tip location sensor senses a field produced by a stylet disposed in a lumen of the catheter when the catheter is disposed in the vasculature. The ultrasound probe ultrasonically images a portion of the vasculature prior to introduction of the catheter. ECG signal-based catheter tip guidance is included to enable guidance of the catheter tip to a desired position with respect to a node of the patient's heart. The stylet includes an electromagnetic coil that can be operably connected to the sensor unit and/or console through a sterile barrier without compromising the barrier. The stylet can also be wirelessly connected to the sensor unit and/or console.

Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, systems and/or methods of selecting location providers. For example, a location provider (LP) selector to operate in a mobile device may include a memory to store an Accuracy-Power Decision Matrix (APDM), the APDM to provide an allocation of a plurality of LPs according to a plurality of power consumption levels and a plurality of accuracy ranges; and a controller to receive from a location client of the mobile device a location request for a location fix of the mobile device, and to assign to the location request one or more LPs of the plurality of LPs, based on the APDM, an accuracy requirement of the location request, and a power consumption requirement of the location request.

  • Patent number: 9369457
Abstract: Features are disclosed for authentication of mobile device applications using a native, independent browser using a single-sign-on system. An authentication module within the mobile application can direct the mobile device's native browser to a URL to initiate authentication with an authentication appliance. The mobile browser can receive and store a browser-accessible token to indicate previous authentication performed by the user. The mobile application can receive from the application appliance and store a client application ID token that may be presented to network services for access. A second mobile device application may direct the same browser to the authentication appliance. The authentication appliance may inspect the persistent browser-accessible token and issue a second client application ID identity to the second application without collecting additional authentication information, or collecting additional authentication information that is different from the first authentication information.

  • Patent number: 9271111
Abstract: A computing system has multiple endpoint computing devices in local environments to receive verbal requests from various users and a central or remote system to process the requests. The remote system generates responses and uses a variety of techniques to determine where and when to return responses audibly to the users. For each request, the remote system understands who is making the request, determines when to provide the response to the user, ascertains where the user is when it is time to deliver the response, discovers which of the endpoint devices are available to deliver the response, and evaluates which of the available devices is best to deliver the response. The system then delivers the response to the best endpoint device for audible emission or other form of presentation to the user.

  • Patent number: 9183306
Abstract: A system filters received messages (e.g., unsolicited advertisements) to determine if they are appropriate for a user based on the non-static, constantly evolving, context of the user. The system can track the user's context by monitoring various environmental parameters, such as related to the user's physical, mental, computing and data environments, and can model the current context of the user based at least in part on the monitoring. The system selects a set of one or more filters to apply to incoming messages based on the user's context, and the selected filters can be updated as the user's context changes. Messages that survive the filters are then evaluated against the user's context to determine whether they should be presented immediately or stored for delayed presentation.
