Abstract: An automobile seat includes a right seat, a center seat, and a left seat. The center seat includes a center seat cushion and a center seat back having one end rotatably supported for reclining to the side of the center seat cushion and raising therefrom. A belt is attached to the center seat back, while being grasped by a hand of a passenger for reclining to the side of the center seat cushion to be brought into abutment on the skin of the seat cushion. The thus configured automobile seat reduces fricative sound generated by collision and friction between the center seat back and the center seat cushion owing to movement up and down of the automobile in the reclined state, resulting in alleviated discomfort given to the passenger.

  • Patent number: 8817599
Abstract: A mobile router having a session proxy module is disclosed. The session proxy module may act as a proxy (such as a TCP proxy) for all sessions (e.g., TCP sessions) going through the mobile router. That is, for example, when a local end-user seeks to establish a TCP session from their local end-user device (such as laptop) with a destination (such as a third party server), the session proxy module may (1) terminate the TCP session coming from the local end-user device and (2) establish a TCP (or some other protocol) session on the backhaul interface with the destination. That way, all end-user traffic between the end-user and the destination may be transparently routed through the mobile router.

A home agent can update a binding cache with a particular proxy binding update (PBU) to include two or more network gateway IP addresses associated with a user equipment (UE) within two or more networks or systems. When the UE in idle mode moves between networks or systems to which registration has occurred, an attachment procedure is not performed since the home agent includes the network gateway IP addresses related to such UE. Thus, inter-system idle mode mobility is enabled without having to perform a full attachment, re-registration, or de-registration based on the network location of the UE.

Abstract: A system provides closed-loop gain control in a WCDMA mode and open loop control in an EDGE/GSM mode. Gain control is distributed across analog devices and a digital scaler in a wireless receiver. In the WCDMA mode, a loop filter generates an error signal that is forwarded to analog and digital control paths. The analog control path includes a first adder, a programmable hysteresis element, and a lookup table. The analog control signal is responsive to thresholds, which when used in conjunction with a previous gain value determine a new gain value. The digital control path includes a second adder, a programmable delay element, and a converter. A control word is responsive to a difference of the error signal, a calibration value, and the analog control signal. Blocker detection is provided in the WCDMA mode of operation. A controller sets system parameters using a state machine.

  • Patent number: 7190944
Abstract: A method for performing a handover based on a compressed mode and a common frequency of neighbor cells is disclosed. The method for performing a handover includes the steps of: a) measuring the signal intensities of a common frequency of a source base station and a target base station, wherein the signal intensity is measured by the mobile station based on a downlink compressed mode; b) determining whether a handover is necessary or not, based on the signal intensities of the common frequency; c) if the handover is necessary, at the source base station, allowing the mobile station to perform intra cell hard handover from a frequency used for communication between the mobile station and the source base station to the common frequency; and then d) allowing the mobile station to perform a soft handover from the source base station to the target base station based on the common frequency.

Abstract: The invention reduces the time required for automatically searching for channels on a device receiving channels of various widths. The invention proposes a channel detection process which carries out successive passes with frequency spacings corresponding to channels of a specific width. During each pass, only the channels corresponding to the specific width are searched for. The invention also pertains to a multichannel reception device comprising the means required for the operation of the process.

Abstract: The present invention relates to secured wireless handsets that discourage or reduce unauthorized removal, loss, or theft of a handset, while allowing the person to communicate hands free. In an embodiment the wireless handset includes a first attachment of a T-nut secured the wireless handset. The T-nut is attached to the cradle by a threaded bolt. A second attachment secures the cradle to a designated communication site such as in a vehicle. In another embodiment, the first attachment includes a security block for obstructing the release mechanisms of a latch on the cradle to secure the wireless handset to the cradle. The secured wireless handsets described are also applicable to non-vehicular communication sites where wireless handset removal from the communication site is a concern.

  • Patent number: 6928309
Abstract: When a portable communication terminal is being charged by a charger, a control signal according to a command entered into the charger is fed from the charger to the portable communication terminal so that, according to this control signal, the portable communication terminal reads out data from a recording medium. Meanwhile, of the data thus read out, data representing additional information (information such as the duration and title of a piece of music that is added to substantial information) is fed from the portable communication terminal to the charger, and this makes it possible to output the additional information, as by displaying it, on the part of the charger. Thus, the user can read out data from the recording medium by using the portable communication terminal in the middle of being charged without feeling awkward, and in addition can recognize the additional information easily even when the portable communication terminal is being charged.
