Abstract: There are provided measures for terminal mobility state detection. Such measures may exemplarily include acquiring a statistical metric of measurements of a signal strength of a terminal with unknown speed over a predetermined time period, comparing the acquired statistical metric with mobility patterns stored in a database, each of said mobility patterns exhibiting a relationship between previously acquired statistical metrics of signal strength measurements of terminals with a specific terminal speed class, and determining a terminal speed class of the terminal according to a best match between the acquired statistical metric and the mobility patterns on the basis of the comparison.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a dielectric substrate, an electronic circuit supported by the substrate, for processing data, and a communication unit having an antenna. The communication unit may be mounted to the substrate in communication with the electronic circuit for converting between a first EHF electromagnetic signal containing digital information and a data signal conducted by the electronic circuit. The electromagnetic signal may be transmitted or received along a signal path by the antenna. An electromagnetic signal guide assembly may include a dielectric element made of a dielectric material disposed proximate the antenna in the signal path. The electromagnetic signal guide may have sides extending along the signal path. A sleeve element may extend around the dielectric element along sides of the dielectric element. The sleeve element may impede transmission of the electromagnetic signal through the sides of the dielectric element.

Abstract: A first radio receives, via a land mobile radio (LMR) radio frequency transceiver, a first transmission of an LMR call from a source transmitting radio transmitted on a first LMR frequency for re-transmission to one or more destination radios. The first radio measures a first measured signal level of the first transmission and receives, via a first short-range RF transceiver from a second radio, a second measured signal level of the first transmission as measured by the second radio. The first radio compares the first measured signal level and the second measured signal level and determines, based on the comparing, how the LMR call should be routed from the source transmitting radio to the one or more destination radios via the first and second radios. The first radio then transmits, via the first short-range RF transceiver, a corresponding instruction indicating a result of the determining to the second radio.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application relate generally to electronic hardware, computer software, wireless communications, network communications, wearable, hand held, and portable computing devices for facilitating communication of information and presentation of media. An electrically conductive substrate, such as a sheet of metal or metal alloy, for example, includes an active antenna formed by a slot or opening formed in the substrate, and also includes at least one separate passive slot or opening (e.g., a passive slit) formed in the substrate. The active antenna may be intentionally detuned from one or more target frequencies (e.g., 802.11, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz) such that the active antenna is not optimized (e.g., is not tuned) for the one or more target frequencies. One portion of the active antenna may be electrically coupled with a ground potential. Another portion of the active antenna may be electrically coupled with a RF receiver, transmitter, or transceiver.
