Book And Leaf Patents (Class 462/17)
  • Patent number: 8414377
Abstract: In contrast to slot-type gaming machines with their preset paylines designating predetermined array positions, the paylines of this novel wagering game are unknown until the indicia in the array have been selected. The indicia are selected from a variety of indicium types, each having a different number of members for identifying adjacent indicia. The randomly selected indicia determine the paylines, if any, in the array. Conditions may be imposed that limit the size and geometry of the paylines in this wagering game.

  • Patent number: 6482085
Abstract: Forms, such as mailing forms, constructed as a single sheet or multiple sheets of standard paper size, which are printable by a single pass through a standard non-impact printer are described. Certain variations of the forms can be configured to be extendible to provide additional surface area for the form exceeding standard paper size. The extendible form can be adapted for use with mailing forms such as multi-part collated unit sets. The forms can be useful for providing a Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note having each part thereof printable by a single pass through a non-impact printer.

  • Patent number: 6260885
Abstract: A latent fingerprint lifting and recordation device of the type which provides a permanent and official fingerprint document. The device includes a flexible transparent latent fingerprint lifting sheet having one adhesive surface thereof and a flat opaque flexible frame having an open central area and being substantially similar in size and shape to that of, and adhered in generally coextensive fashion on one surface thereof against the fingerprint lifting sheet. A majority of the adhesive surface is exposable and unattached over said open central area for lifting a latent fingerprint. A flat protective cover is positioned against, and similar in size and shape to, that of the frame and releasably adhered against the adhesive surface through the open central area.

  • Patent number: 6231943
Abstract: A record pad is provided having a paper top sheet with top and bottom faces and an underlying record bottom sheet with a transfer medium between them. The top sheet has an upper margin and a pattern (such as a substantially continuous strip) of repositional adhesive is provided on each top sheet bottom face adjacent the upper margin and substantially parallel to the upper margin. This provides a record pad construction which is more user friendly particularly for left handed writers, and makes it simpler to attach a top sheet—once removed from the pad—to another sheet or object. Preferably the top sheet is segmented into three different portions by through cut lines (or perforations or other lines of weakness), and along a securing edge of the top sheet another through cut line is provided, substantially perpendicular to the upper margin. The repositional adhesive strips are spaced from the upper margin or lines of weakness about 1—5 mm (e.g. about 2 mm).

  • Patent number: 5484292
Abstract: An electronic book comprising a plurality of leaves, each leaf comprising pages of printed material bound at one edge to form a spine, with electrical circuits formed in each leaf. A common electronic circuit such as a speech generator and/or controller cooperates with the electrical circuits on each of the various pages, connected to the electrical circuits in the leaves through conductive paths through the spine of the book. The electrical circuits in the leaves include electrical elements such as switches, and sensory output devices (e.g., thermochromic devices, light emitting diodes, thermo-olfactory devices, electrochromic devices, and the like). The electrical elements are associated with particular portions of the printed material so that the particular portions can be selectively highlighted or emphasized (e.g., designated by actuation of a visual or olfactory device and/or text read).

  • Patent number: 5328409
Abstract: Disclosed is a note caddy which includes a binder with several sheets. The sheets have perforated scoring to facilitate their removal from the binder. Further, the sheets are divided into sections by perforated scoring, and note panels are adhered to each section. Each note panel has a note surface and an adhesive surface. The note surface of the panels are designed to receive notes penned or penciled thereon by the user of the invention. The carrier sheets are constructed in a manner to allow the adhesive surface of the panels to releasably adhere thereto; for example, the carrier sheets can have a release coating on them which will cause the adhesive of the adhesive surface of the panel to adhere to the carrier sheet but be removable from it with the adhesive remaining on the panel for use in thereafter adhering the panel to a file, ledger or the like.

  • Patent number: 5209698
Abstract: A business form that may be easily and inexpensively produced provides a security feature while allowing ready printing of variable information on carbonless sheets, and ready utilization of variable security information. Top and bottom sheets of base paper have their bottom and top surfaces, respectively, in engagement with each other. A label is applied to the top surface of the bottom sheet, underlying a blockout printing strip on the top surface of the top sheet. Carbonless imaging means, such as a self-imaging coating on the label and top surface of the bottom sheet (or a CB coating on the bottom surface of the top sheet and a CF coating on the top surface of the bottom sheet, at least at the label), transfer variable data printed on the blockout printing to the label, and preferably to part of the bottom sheet adjacent the label. An adhesive strip, with release tape over it, may be provided on the bottom surface of the bottom sheet.

  • Patent number: 5205787
Abstract: A form for recording information for preparing and delivering a food-type order, such as an order for pizza and the like food and non-food items, comprises a stack of pressure sensitive copy sheets that are joined together along a common edge. Aligned columns are formed upon the sheets to provde overlapped spaces for receiving written information such as the items ordered, prices, delivery addresses and the like. At least some of the sheets are cut transversely to the common edge to form sets of overlapped, narrow, elongated strips, each having the information spaces. A delivery address space is provided adjacent the common edge and is of a length which is roughly twice the length used for recording address information. A tear line is formed on one of the sheets at the inner end of its address space to form a separable delivery tag.

  • Patent number: 5199923
Abstract: A carbon copy set includes a sheet having an elongated edge. An elongated strip of material having an adhesive coating thereon extending longitudinally of the strip on one side thereof is attached to the sheet at its elongated edge by a first portion of the adhesive coating. The strip is disposed such that an elongated edge of the strip and a second portion of the adhesive coating are positioned beyond the elongated edge of the sheet. The sheet and the elongated strip together present a combined sheet having the second portion of the adhesive coating exposed on one side thereof between the elongated edge of the first sheet and the elongated edge of the strip. The set may also include another sheet having an elongated edge. The combined sheet overlies the last mentioned sheet and is attached thereto by the second portion of the adhesive coating such that the elongated edge of the second sheet and the elongated edge of the strip of the combined sheet coincide.
