Including Multiple Piston-cylinder Devices Radially Spaced From Axis Of Rotation Patents (Class 464/27)
  • Patent number: 4555008
Abstract: A hydraulic dampened clutch plate having a hub, a hub flange, a friction disc plate and pins on the hub flange and disc plate spaced radially outwardly from the hub and spaced equally circumferentially around the hub, the pins on the flange and disc plate being joined by a cylinder and piston, the cylinder being fluid tight and the piston having a valve there in, divides the cylinder into two chambers, the piston valve interconnecting the chambers to dampening vibration or the piston moves in and out of the cylinder because of relative movement between the hub flange and the disc plate.

  • Patent number: 4541513
Abstract: A fluid power transmission adapted for combination with an engine to drive auxiliary equipment thereto including a rotor arrangement for direct driving connection to the engine crankshaft and a housing assembly rotatably supported on the rotor arrangement and forming therewith a fluid drive circuit to be in driven relation therewith. A centrifugally-actuated valve is radially disposed in the fluid circuit in the housing assembly to remain closed at rotational speeds of the housing assembly less than a predetermined optimum speed and to yield in response to centrifugal forces created upon rotation of the housing assembly at greater speeds for fluid flow in the fluid circuit to create slippage of the housing assembly about the rotor arrangement to limit increases in the rotational speed of the housing assembly over the optimum speed. The housing assembly includes a pulley wheel by which the auxiliary units are driven generally constantly at the optimum speed for maximum efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4333319
Abstract: A universal joint assembly which includes a first and a second yoke operatively interconnected by a trunnion cross arranged therebetween is formed with a generally centrally located bore extending through the trunnion cross between the first and the second yoke with a bolt extending within the bore interconnecting the first and second yoke through the trunnion cross. One end of the bolt is attached to a radially movable member in the first yoke and lock means are provided for locking the radially movable element in any selected position in order to fix the position of a connecting member joined to the second yoke so that interconnection of torque transmitting elements may be facilitated.
