  • Patent number: 4610642
Abstract: A link coupling having at least one coupling hub and one outer coupling flange interconnected by links or groups of links which are disposed at a tangent to the rotational axis. The links are arranged in pairs at an angle to one another, and are secured at their ends, by dowels or bolts, alternately to the hub and to the coupling flange. As an improvement, bolt-on ring segments are provided on at least one coupling part for the securing of the links. The bores for receiving the securing bolts or fasteners are enlarged, i.e. are formed with clearance. Unavoidable tolerances in bore diameters, and spacing errors, can therefore be compensated especially along with increase in reliability of operation.

Abstract: A hydraulic motor which varies its displacement in accordance with varying torque loads on its output shaft. The motor is biased to a low displacement, low torque, high speed mode, and changes to a high displacement, high torque, low speed mode when the torque load on its output shaft increases. The motor has eccentrically disposed gerotor gears that rotate and orbit relative to each other to expand and contract fluid chambers on opposite sides of a center line of eccentricity. The gerotor gears can change their orientation relative to each other in response to changes in the torque load on the output shaft, changed, in order to change the displacement of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4432739
Abstract: A spring steel, liquid-damped shaft coupling in which the torque is transmitted between an inner part and an outer part coaxial therewith by means of radial spring elements disposed in discrete liquid-filled chambers, the liquid in any chamber being displaced, in response to a relative movement, by the spring elements into the adjacent chamber; outwardly axially parallel torsion spring elements are provided on the radial spring elements and connect the same to the outer coupling part. To increase the torsional resilience, therefore, a torsion tube is connected to each radial spring element and projects axially on one side relative to the radial spring element; and a torsion bar extends in the torsion tube, is frictionally secured to the projecting end thereof, and at its other end engages in the outer coupling part at a distance from the radial spring element in such a way as to rotate solidly with the outer coupling part.

  • Patent number: 4431380
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, means for maintaining the motion of an orbiting plate in fixed angular relationship to a stationary plate and for modulating the capacity of the compressor. The orbiting and stationary plates include intermeshed wrap elements of similar spiral shape about an axis. A coupling ring is slideably disposed between the plates and sealingly encloses the wrap elements. Four slots are provided in the coupling ring, aligned at right angles to each other and spaced apart around its inner circumference. Three segments, extending outward from the wrap elements, sealingly engage these slots. The fourth slot is engaged by a sliding key attached to one of the plates. The segments separate a first and a second fluid inlet and cooperate with the slots in the coupling ring to constrain the orbiting plate's motion in fixed angular relationship to the stationary plate.
