Aeroponics Patents (Class 47/62A)
  • Patent number: 6105309
Abstract: The plant cultivation apparatus and plant cultivation method hasten the growth of a plant root without root injury even if the basic root has been sufficiently bathed in cultivation water solution, reduce a cost for competing with alleyway vegetables by reducing electric power consumption as much as possible, which has been the greatest factor for cultivation cost, by utilizing fluorescent light as efficiently as possible for cultivating the plant while oxygen necessary for growing the plant root can be supplied sufficiently and bacteria cannot be produced, and prevent heat injury such as a chip-burn by minimizing heat energy generated by the light source (fluorescent light).

  • Patent number: 6098337
Abstract: An orchid cultivating device, which includes a flat base plate, and two guard members fastened to the flat base plate to hold sphagnum moss and orchids, wherein the base plate has a plurality of retainer rods, a plurality of clamps holding a spray tube at the top side, and a water trough for connecting excessive water; the guard members each have a plurality of arched ribs defining a plurality of open spaces for ventilation, and a plurality of peripheral mounting lugs respectively engaged with the retainer rods at the base plate. The base plate and the guard members can be injection-molded from plastics to reduce the manufacturing cost. Hanger means can be fastened to through holes at the base plate for carrying by hand, or hanging on a high place.

  • Patent number: 6058650
Abstract: Apparatus for planting green plants on reinforced concrete structures includes a T-shaped base mount having a positioning hole connected to an L-shaped tube and a high density sponge inside. The base mount is connected to a cylinder which includes a positioning hole connected to a T-shaped tube. A sand-releasing tube is connected at the bottom of the T-shaped tube and a funnel-connected snake-shaped tube is connected at the top. Another positioning hole on the cylinder is connected to an L-shaped air pipe. A cover plate having a hole at the center is attached to the top of the cylinder, the hole in the cover plate being connectable to a planting tube. The cylinder is connected to an anchor-shaped metal handle and a cylinder fixing frame so as to position the entire apparatus on steel rods within the reinforced concrete structure.

  • Patent number: 6006471
Abstract: An air-cleaning ecosystem apparatus includes: an ecosystem container having green plants, pollutant-absorbable plants and aromatic plants selectively planted in the ecosystem container; at least an illuminator installed in the ecosystem container; a blower having filters connected to the ecosystem container for delivering input air as primarily filtered into the ecosystem container; and an irrigation device for delivering water into the container for watering the plants; whereby upon light exposure by the illuminator, the green plants will conduct photosynthesis for absorbing carbon dioxide from the air and giving off oxygen into the air; the pollutant-absorbable plants will absorb some pollutants existing in the air; and the aromatic plants will release fragrant smell into the air, thereby outputting clean, fragrant air rich in oxygen beneficial for human and animal breathing for completing a gaseous cycle of ecosystem.

  • Patent number: 5937575
Abstract: This invention provides apparatus and methods for stabilization of ultrasonically generated nutrient fog. To eliminate the sensitivity to the humidity and temperature of the intake air, the fog is recirculated from the growth chamber to the fog-generating reservoir. The chamber and reservoir are connected by a fog supply conduit and a fog return conduit which form a fog circulation circuit. The recirculation eliminates the fog density dependence on intake air humidity and stabilizes the amount of nutrients used. To monitor the fog density, this invention provides an optical fog density detector that operates by measuring the absorbance of the fog. The density detector can be coupled with the fog generator so that the rate of fog generation is responsive to the measured fog density. The detector can be coupled with an alarm to signal fog generator malfunction. This invention also provides fog concentration stabilization by using a large ballast reservoir connected to a fog-generating reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5833137
Abstract: A view tank including an upper partition plate and a lower partition plate dividing the tank body into an upper section, a middle section, and a lower section. The walls of the middle section are transparent and openable for planting purposes. The lower section is a water storage section, and water is pumped to a fog generating box for generating fog. Excessive water flows down from the upper portion of the middle section. The upper section has a light for illuminating the middle section, and a fan for blowing the hot air in the upper and middle sections to the outer rim of the transparent walls of the middle section so as to remove water moisture on the walls. The respective walls of the three sections may be fabricated into integral units which are then assembled as a whole.
