  • Patent number: 11723327
Abstract: A system for providing a growth environment for a plant positioned in an automated plant growing system is disclosed. Light sources with each light source positioned in the automated plant growing system to expose the plant to the light sources and to generate light to trigger photosynthesis in the plant. A controller that monitors a growth parameters associated with the plant to determine whether the growth parameters deviate beyond a corresponding growth threshold. Each of the growth parameters provides an indicator as to a growth status of the plant and the growth status of the plant decreases when the growth parameters deviate beyond the corresponding growth threshold. The controller automatically adjusts an environmental parameter when the growth parameters deviate beyond the growth thresholds. Each of the environmental parameters impact the growth environment of the plant positioned in the automated plant growing system.

Abstract: A stackable growth media filled porous fabric block-shaped container includes either an internal seed carrier to facilitate the growth of various plants from within the block, or an outer three-dimensional open structure media retention sleeve to support external growth of vegetation via hydromulching into the sleeve. A plurality of the containers may be stacked or laid side by side to create a vegetated retaining wall or a vegetated slope facing. The porous fabric block-shaped containers are filled with growth medium that encourages plant growth, while allowing proper drainage and moisture retention. The seed carrier is a degradable or porous material coated with or supporting seeds and other amendments which facilitate plant growth. The open structure media retention sleeve includes loops of filaments to increase friction between blocks and to hold hydromulch on exposed surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10935534
Abstract: A whole plant gas exchange apparatus employs a chamber having a first region for accommodating a growth medium and a root system of a whole plant, and a second region accommodating a canopy of the plant. The regions are separated by a barrier, except for an opening through which the stem of the plant is accommodated. An air source supplies incoming air to the second region through an intake. An air outlet conveys outgoing air from the second region to a gas sensor for analysis of the outgoing air after photosynthetic interaction with the plant canopy. A vent communicates the first region of the chamber to an ambient environment outside the chamber. A resulting pressurized state of the second region is used to exhaust air from the first region through the vent in order to isolate this exhausted air from the analyzed canopy air.

The ecological greening wall comprises a plurality of fixed poles (2) arranged at intervals on the ground (1), and a reinforcement (3) with openings is fixedly connected between the fixed poles (2) and arranged along the fixed poles (2) in a vertical direction. Stacked vegetation bags (4) for greening are provided on at least one side of the reinforcement (3), and each includes a breathable and permeable bag body (41) and a vegetation base material (42) filled in the bag body (41). The bag body (41) and the reinforcement (3) are fixedly connected together by a reinforcing wall (6) so as to form a whole body by the reinforcing wall (6), the reinforcement (3) and the vegetation bag (4). The ecological greening wall has a simple and firm structure, and it is easy to be constructed.

Abstract: A container for planting, storing and preserving bulbs, etc. and also serving to facilitate replanting again. The container is made from flexible material that can be buried and then stored time after time without degradation of the material. The container has handles so that the container can be easily removed from the ground to store the bulbs without the need of a shovel or spade that might damage the bulb. The container keeps at least a portion of the root system of the bulb during storage so that bulbs can more quickly re-establish themselves when replanted. Different sizes are available for any size bulbs. V-shaped flaps enable the root system to grow outside the bounds of the container. The aligned flaps also provide a visual gauge to determine the proper planting depth.

Abstract: A process and system for growing produce decouples farming from the unpredictability of the external environment by moving the farm into a highly-controlled enclosed environment in which all variables are optimized to grow produce of exceptional quality in a consistent, predictable manner, while minimizing or eliminating deleterious environmental impacts. A filtered, positive-pressure environment greatly reduces particulate contamination and pest infiltration from the outside. Seedlings are planted in containers of an organic soil mix engineered to deliver optimal amounts of water, nutrients, fiber and organic matter. The containers advance along a production line, in the process being given controlled exposure to light of predetermined intensity and wavelength, optimized to produce a desired growth pattern. Water is given at regular intervals in amounts calculated to produce optimal growth without waste.

Abstract: A self-mulching planter bag that is tapered such that the diameter is larger at the top providing for easy removal of the bag from the root mass. It can be used for transplantation where a user can place a planter bag into a larger planter bag as the plant grows. The larger planter bag has space for the smaller bag through the use of a core feed plug which, when removed from the larger bag, leaves a void that is equal or greater to the size of the smaller bag. The larger bag can be pre-filled with designer soils especially suited for the particular plant. The planter bag also incorporates attachment points that can be used to train the plant or to attach the bags to surfaces or even to each other. Interconnected planter bag configurations can be used in a variety of applications including erosion control and environmental restoration.

Abstract: The instant invention describes a grow bag with a dosing irrigation tube inserted within the inner cavity of the grow bag for controllable dispersant of plant nutrients therein. The system comprises a top panel and a bottom panel secured to a plurality of side walls to form an inner cavity. Attached to the top panel is a dosing irrigation tube or pipe constructed and arranged to traverse the length of the bag and have a first and second end that is external to the inner cavity. Housed within the inner cavity of the bag is plant growth material for providing support and nutrients for the growth of one or more plant species. The invention also describes a system of two or more grow bags with a dosing irrigation tube coupled together and arranged in a variety of conjurations, including horizontally or vertically in a linear fashion or non-linear fashion.
