Abstract: A bolt repair platform includes a frame and a tool module. The tool module includes a tool having a first end configured to rotationally engage a bolt. The tool module also includes an actuator disposed between the tool and the frame so that actuation of the actuator moves the tool with respect to the frame. The frame is removably disposed on the structure, and the tool is movable with respect to the frame, so that, at each of a plurality of positions, the second end of the tool is capable of engagement with a respective bolt disposed in an internal support structure of a nuclear reactor vessel.

Abstract: A thread rolling machine forming a threaded member from a workpiece includes a die, a device for rotating the die, a device for generating a load applied to the die in a workpiece-feeding direction, a member that deforms under the applied load during a thread rolling operation, a strain gauge that generates a signal indicative of the deformation of the member under the applied load, and a computer that calculates the load applied during thread rolling operation based on the signal generated by the strain gauge. The computer can generate a feedback signal permitting control of the applied load generated by the thread rolling machine by controlling either the load generating device or the die-rotating device. An operating method for a thread rolling machine is also described.
Abstract: In order to correctly detect whether an individually supplied part is actually mounted on a part-receptive member, a part detector is disposed at a position close to a part-holding member of a part-supply rod. Positionwise relationship between this part detector and the part-receptive member is predetermined in order that the part mounted on the part-receptive member can activate operation of the above-identified part detector to generate a signal for identifying presence of the delivered part while the part-supply rod retreats.
Abstract: An improved numerically controlled machine tool is provided by resiliently coupling an independent drive mechanism to a toolholder which in turn is fitted to the numerically controlled machine. The drive mechanism in turn is coupled to a working tool used for drilling, tapping, milling or other machine functions. The drive mechanism and the toolholder are resiliently coupled together so that they may be relatively displaced one with respect to each other depending upon the amount of vertical force being through the working tool applied to the drive mechanism tending to urge the drive mechanism either toward or away from the toolholder. The torque, power and/or rate of rotation of the working tool is controlled as a function of the relative displacement of the working tool with respect to the toolholder along a predetermined axis of coupling between them.
