Abstract: A system for supporting a punching bag includes a bag portion mounted on a ring by straps. The ring is spaced away from the bag portion by the straps. The ring is in turn mounted by springs or chain to a plate and bearing assembly including a plate. The ring is the same circumference as the bag portion. As such, the straps are vertical. This prevents deformation of the bag.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a pair of support members, a cable, a rolling mechanism and a tackling bag. The pair of support members are fixedly coupled to a surface. The cable is attached to and extends between the pair of support members. The rolling mechanism is connected to the cable and configured to traverse the rod from a first end of the rod toward a second end of the rod. The tackling bag is attached to the rolling mechanism and configured to be propelled from one of the pair of support members toward the other of the pair of support members. The rolling mechanism is permitted to move relative to the cable when a force is applied to the tackling bag.

Abstract: The punching bag sling with cover is configured for use with a punching bag. The punching bag sling with cover is a mechanical structure. The punching bag sling with cover suspends the punching bag above a supporting surface. The punching bag sling with cover forms a sheath that encloses the punching bag. The punching bag sling with cover comprises a sling, a bag sheath, a plurality of anchor structures, a plurality of chains and a suspension ring. The plurality of chains attach the suspension ring to the plurality of anchor structures. The plurality of anchor structures attach the plurality of chains to the sling. The bag sheath forms the cover that encloses the punching bag. The suspension ring forms an anchor point that suspends the punching bag sling with cover and the punching bag above the supporting surface.

Abstract: A training device comprising a flexible rod capable of being mounted at an upper end to an upper structure, such as a ceiling, and at a lower end to a lower structure, such as a floor, and a punching bag mounted to the flexible rod. The flexible rod may be capable of deformation followed by a quick return to an original position when the punching bag is struck.

Abstract: A multi-sport athletic training device is provided, which is comprised of an elongate hollow container and a packing material. The elongate hollow container has a first end and a second end and is made of a flexible material. The first and second ends are closed to maintain the packing material within the elongate hollow container. The elongate hollow container is at least partially filled with the packing material such that the elongate hollow container absorbs impact and provides resistance. In exemplary embodiments, the packing material is sand. Exemplary embodiments of an athletic training device may further comprise two steel plates closing the first or second end of the container. Methods of manufacturing an athletic training device are also provided. A stand assembly for mounting an athletic training device is also provided.

Abstract: A portable shield made for individuals who practice boxing, martial arts, or any combat sport. The portable shield comprises a central striking area, a resilient neck-like striking area, a head-like striking area that are suitable for kicking and/or punching. The portable shield also comprises holding arms for steering the shield and a spring within the resilient neck-like striking area for allowing movement of the head-like striking area when it is stricken by a user/athlete. The head-like striking area, the resilient neck-like striking area and the central striking area are covered with padding material to prevent injuring the user/athlete when kicking and/or punching.

Abstract: Strand-filled punching bags including punching bags filled with a plurality of strands made from a variety of possible materials are disclosed. In some examples, the strand-filled punching bag includes a sheath that extends to and contacts a surface located below the punching bag, such as a floor, and is equipped with an additional abrasion sheath to help control the swing characteristics of the punching bag. In some further examples, the strand-filled punching bag includes a shorter sheath that does not contact the surface below the punching bag, and thus lacks an additional abrasion sheath.

The tackling dummy is releasably attached to the release mechanism and is released thereby when a predetermined force is applied to the tackling dummy.

Abstract: The football pass receiving trainer includes a cord extending between a first support and a second support and includes a pad selectively positionable along the length of the cord, wherein the pad is sized so a receiver must catch a football around the pad with the hands and extended arms and elbows. The cord stretches upon contact with the foam pad and is selectively tensioned between the first support and the second support. The football pass receiving trainer is usable as a stand-alone unit via a free-standing base and plurality of slidingly engageable feet or through use of a hook and stabilizing cord that cooperate to selectively secure the support to the chain link fence.

The sections may be collapsed such that all of them may be collapsed into the lowest section. A handle is provided in the top of the head structure for carrying the entire assembly. The collapsed device may be easily transported and/or stored. The device is particularly useful as a defensive dummy in practicing the games of basketball and volleyball.

An elongated arm extends outward from two opposite sides of the support member in generally perpendicular relationship to the support member. The arm has freedom of rotation about the support member. At least two blocking dummy holders are configured to be suspended from the arm such that at least one each of the blocking dummy holders is positioned on each of the two opposite sides of the support member. Each of the blocking dummy holders has freedom of rotation about the arm, whereby a person on the playing surface who strikes a blocking dummy held by the blocking dummy holder will cause the arm to rotate about the support member and the blocking dummy to rotate about the arm.
