Abstract: A cue for billiard sports that has a butt section, a joint collar, and a shaft section that has a kinetic energy absorbing insert located in the shaft section of the cue. A shaft section that has a kinetic energy absorbing insert that may be connected to an existing joint collar and butt section of a cue to improve the kinetic energy absorbing characteristics of the cue. A kinetic energy absorbing insert that is to be received by an existing shaft section of a cue in order to increase the kinetic energy absorbing characteristics of the cue is also disclosed.

Abstract: A cue stick is fitted with an extension adapter secured in its butt end having an external extension connector adapted to matingly engage with an internal extension connector of an extension to secure the extension to the butt end. The external extension connector is not covered by the bumper and can be left on when the extension is fitted to the cue stick, but when the extension is secured, the extension and butt end of the cue stick will be substantially flush with each other, the external extension connector now being located inside of the extension.

Abstract: A cue stick handle includes: an exterior casing of conical members; a rigid inner core, which includes linearly interlocked and glued components, including (a) a rigid tube composed of a hard, tensile material that provides steel-like characteristics, including rigidity and stiffness and (b) a pin holder composed of a strong composite or plastic material, having a high tensile and high bending strength, and adhesively coupled to the tube. The first end of a joint pin is securely inserted within the pin holder and a second end of the joint pin extends in an axial direction away from the tube. The tube is filled with a vibration-dampening, foam-like material. The rigid inner core may include a wood core securely mated to an end of the rigid tube. A pair of collars is coupled to each end of the rigid inner core to secure the rigid inner core inside the exterior casing.

Abstract: The present invention provides a sports cue for improving the consistency of a player's shot. The sports cue includes a tapered length of material having a longitudinal axis therethrough, wherein the density of material above the longitudinal axis is less than that below the longitudinal axis to form a “bottom-heavy” cue.

Abstract: A cue stick including a butt shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. A first vibration damping insert can be secured within the distal end of the butt shaft and can be formed of vibration damping material. A first joint member can be secured within the first vibration damping insert. The first joint member is for securing to a mating cue stick portion.

Abstract: A billiard cue includes a forward body defined by a first constantly tapered configuration securely mounted to a backward body defined by a second constantly tapered configuration. A cue tip is attached to an open end of the forward body and a butt cap is attached to an open end of the backward body. The backward body has a longitudinal threaded bore with an opening thereof at the open end of the backward body. At least a threaded weight device is received and engaged in the bore of the backward body from the opening in such a way that the location of the weight device can be adjusted independently.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a tip section for a cue stick for use in billiards, snooker and pool. The tip section may be connected to either a butt section of a two piece cue, or to the shortened shaft end of an existing cue stick butt section. The tip section is composed of a hollow tube into which stiffening members and weights may be introduced to alter the weight, balance, flex and kick of the tip section. The tip section can be retrofitted to an existing butt section, used to repair a cue stick with a damaged tip segment, or be part of a new cue.

Abstract: The butt end of a standard pool cue is modified by boring a threaded receiving female hole through the center of the butt cushion. A male threaded stub of an extender is sized to fit the butt end of a pool cue, which extender has, at its forward end, a cavity to receive the butt cushion and a center-located threaded bolt that is sized to mate with a threaded bore in the center of the cue cushion. One or more butt extenders are adapted at the butt end to receive other extender sections.

Abstract: A joint system for cue sticks. The system includes a joining member, a sleeve, and a receiving member. The cue stick shaft is prepared by drilling and tapping therein a centered threaded bore extending inwardly along a longitudinal axis from a center end face which is transverse to the longitudinal axis. The cue stick handle is similarly prepared. The joining member is preferably integrally formed or machined from a single solid part, and includes a pin portion and a smaller stud portion with a transverse oriented transition portion therebetween preferably shaped as an annular face portion. The pin portion has an externally threaded engagement portion adapted to securely locate the joining member, in the threaded bore in the cue stick shaft. The stud portion extends along the longitudinal axis outward from the pin portion, and has, at the distal end, a threaded locking portion. A receiving member is provided to receive the stud portion.

Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for causing a pool cue ball to jump and thereby avoid an opponent's safety blocking ball utilizing a cue stick of approximately one half of the standard length, and having a plurality of apertures within a carrier in a radial slot in the handle end of the stick wherein selected weights may be secured to adjust the weight of the stick for different shooting styles and for different weights of cue balls.

Abstract: A cue having a hollow cylindrical handle and a hollow cylindrical shaft with a constant external diameter. A tip member fixed to one end of the shaft and a connector fixed to the other end of the shaft. A butt member fixed to one end of the handle and a connecting member fixed to the other end of the shaft to connect the handle to the shaft. An adjustable weight is located in the hollow handle and a bridge sleeve surrounds the shaft. The bridge sleeve has a bushing at each end with an inner diameter slightly greater than the outer diameter of the shaft so that the shaft can slide through the bridge sleeve to cause a steady movement of the cue.

Abstract: A cue for the game of billiards, pool and the like the length and weight of which may be selectively varied during use so the player can balance the cue to fit his or her needs and the length of the cue for the various strokes played.
