  • Patent number: 8500576
Abstract: A game device has a target plate fixed to the waist area of a person who will play the game, and a ball is tethered to the target plate. The tether is flexible to allow the ball to engage a target on the target plate. To facilitate control of the ball on the tether, the tether has a rigid rod flexibly fixed to the bottom of the target plate, and a flexible string extending from the rod to the ball. There are sights between the targets on the target plate. By swinging the tethered ball with the tether aligned with a sight, the player can align the ball to be received by a target. Baskets in the targets catch the ball, so the ball can be easily removed from the target. Electronic play instructions, electronically directed game play, electronic scorekeeping means, and electronically directed alternative player goals are provided.

Abstract: MagSnap is a miniature tethered projectile toy comprised of a cap and handle joined by an elongated cord. The cap and handle both contain magnets. The toy is approximately 7.5 millimeters in length. The player casts the cap upward and then attempts to align the handle with the cap so that the cap descends or ascends onto the handle and magnetism joins the cap and handle. Magnetism and the natural attraction to north can be used to accomplish a number of different maneuvers. The miniature size of the toy enables the player to attempt the different maneuvers or snaps.

  • Patent number: 5830083
Abstract: A challenging and patience developer toy. This invention has a handle perpendicular to a four ended receptacle shaped like a cross. The four ends constitute the male extensions and form the axes of the male connector. The male extensions are: a peg, a cup, a fin and a cross-fin. Extending from the point of intersection of the four male extensions, at the opposite end, from the handle is a short piece of string. Attached to this string is a part of the toy that I refer to as the female connector. The female connector is a cylinder with one of its circular bases attached to the string. It has a central hole of a size corresponding to the peg of the male connector. It has a circular void concentric to the central peg hole of a size corresponding to and complementary to the edge of the cup on the male connector. It also has a groove diametrically passing through the central hole and the concentric circular void and a second groove diametric and perpendicular to the first diametric grove.

  • Patent number: 5810685
Abstract: A practice ball responsive to acceleration for use in practicing sports and an acceleration sensor therefor. The practice ball includes an electronics housing; an acceleration sensor mounted in the electronics housing and responsive to acceleration of the practice ball; a sound generating device also mounted in the electronics housing and responsive to the acceleration sensor; and a soft deformable shell having a shape which simulates a sports ball. The soft deformable shell, which is capable of snugly accommodating the electronics housing, may be supported by a tether line connected to the electronics housing. The acceleration sensor preferably includes at least two switching elements, each of which is responsive to a different magnitude of acceleration. The sound generating device is then responsive to the switching elements so as to emit different programmed sounds depending on which of the switching elements is/are actuated by acceleration of the practice ball.
