Abstract: A tip insert for a cue shaft having a cavity at the tip has a tip disc to support a tip for striking a ball and an inwardly extending section for bonding to the inside surface of the cavity. The inwardly extending section includes one or more centering flanges and a bonding surface, the centering flanges interfacing with the inner surface of the cavity and enabling a substantially consistence bond distance between the bonding surface and the inner surface of the cavity. The tip insert can be machine from a single piece of material comprising glass fiber-reinforced epoxy laminate sheets, where the individual sheets of the material are oriented perpendicular to the longitude axis of the tip insert to increase the durability and performance of the tip insert when transferring the force from the tip striking a ball.
Abstract: Improvement of a cue stick for playing pool and the like by providing a nylon tip for contact a ball to be struck. The nylon tip may be nylon 6/12 and may be formed from rod stock of diameter of 0.6125 inch.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and products effective for ocular enhancement conditioning of users attempting to successfully hit or otherwise make contact with objects projected towards, away from or at angles by the users, and increasing efficacy in hitting and contact.
Abstract: A leather billiard cue tip has an insert embedded in the surface of the cue tip having a higher coefficient of friction relative to the cue ball than that of the leather tip itself. The insert has a mechanical compliance compatible with that of the leather tip, and is contoured to form a continuous smooth surface at the apex of the leather tip. The leather tip has a hardness that is not less than, i.e., that is equal to or greater than, the hardness of the insert. The composite of leather and insert provide a cue tip having enhanced friction when contacting the cue ball, diminishing sliding between the cue tip and cue ball during an off center billiard shot that significantly reduces the risk of miscuing while optimum hardness of the leather tip insures substantial maintenance of the structural geometry of the tip during and after a billiard shot.
Abstract: The present invention provides a multipurpose rubber pad of billiard cue, which is typically possessed of a coupling portion at one end, and a damping portion at another end, wherein said damping portion has a blind hole formed on the center surface for embedding an abrasive piece or a chalk piece in. in this case, said rubber pad not only has the conventional damping function, but also allows the player pick up it to scuff or shape the leather cue tip in the intermittent time of the course of a game depending on necessary. Therefore the rubber pad offered by the present invention has multipurpose feather facilitating to use conveniently.
Abstract: A combination construction for a tip and point ferrule of a billiard cue. The tip is manufactured from an epoxy resin reinforced glass fiber material that is used in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards. The material is formed into a rivet (mushroom) shape to allow the outer most part of the shaft that is shaped into a small cylindrical shaped object to be inserted into the cavity of a bush shaped point ferrule in order to connect with the small cylindrical object beneath the tip, and to allow the compression packing located between the tip and point ferrule to absorb the counter force of striking a billiard ball such that the tip and point ferrule are not damaged during impact.
Abstract: The Cue Putter is unique golf club, far superior in design to existing putters. It is designed to maximize a golfer's putting accuracy and consistency. The Cue Putter consists of a wooden club shaft, a guide block, rubber "O"-rings, and a transparent Plexiglas clubhead. The Cue Putter is designed to be used while kneeling on the green, with the putter's shaft aligned and used parallel to the putting surface. The Cue-Putter is gripped with one hand, and the stroke is executed primarily with the fingers and wrist instead of the arms and shoulders used with traditional putters. This improves the golfer's putting "touch" tremendously, because the innate precision of the hand and fingers cannot be matched by the larger muscle groups of the arms and shoulders. The Cue Putter also provides an ideal, "real time" view of the slope and undulation of the green, instead of a vague, "mental snapshot" taken while the golfer crouches down yards behind the ball prior to assuming his stance.
Abstract: A method for the preparation of manganous chloride solutions using copper as a redox intermediate in the reaction between manganese and chlorine. Treatment of manganese-containing materials with a copper solution results in oxidation and dissolution of the manganese and the formation of elemental copper. The copper is in turn dissolved by reaction with cupric or ferric ions, which are then regenerated by chlorine oxidation.
