Patent number: 11998807Abstract: A ball pick-up scoop can be attached to, or molded on, the head end of a tennis racquet. When mounted, formed, or attached the scoop protrudes roughly 80°-90° away from the face side of the racquet. While standing up straight and holding the handle of the racquet, the user slides/pivots the scoop under a ball (tennis, rubber, synthetic, etc.), which cradles the ball between the scoop's ball guides and the racquet's face to facilitate picking up the ball without ever bending over. Once the ball is cradled the user can pivot the racquet up to their opposite hand and grab the ball, or flip the ball up and hit the ball, or let it bounce and then hit the ball.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2020Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Inventor: Kevin Scott Neff

Patent number: 6419600Abstract: A golf ball handling apparatus comprises a hollow body for holding a plurality of golf balls, a passage between the body and the end of the apparatus, a ball control mechanism, a ball guide and legs for elevating one side of the body. The ball control mechanism includes a biased lever pivotally attached to the passage. A stop extends from the bottom of the lever into the passage and is moveable between an open and closed position as the lever is depressed and released. The lever is biased so that the stop is normally closed. Balls are retrieved from the playing surface by pressing the end of the device over the ball, forcing the ball into the passage. The ball moves the stop out of the way as it travels into the passage. In the closed position the stop partially blocks the passage in the body preventing balls from exiting. To dispense balls the lever is depressed, moving the stop to an open position allowing a golf ball to roll out of the passage onto the playing surface.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: July 16, 2002Assignee: Morris Rosen bloom & Co., Inc.Inventors: Michael T. Patent number: 5639133Abstract: A ball container and dispenser is elevated in a standing position by a downwardly extending ball pickup tube and pivotable stand. The tube angles away from the container and dispenser so that the bottom of the tube is forward of the container and dispenser to pick up balls in front of the user. A hinged lid removably covers a top ball dispensing opening in the container and dispenser. The stand pivots to serve as a combination stand in the down position and lid locker in the up position. The rigid element snap fits into paired ridges protruding from the container and dispenser. A handle integral with the lid is shaped like a sports equipment handle and slopes toward the rear. The bottom of the tube is parallel to the ground and has a circular opening smaller than the ball. For hard balls, the opening has radial slots around the perimeter creating resilient tabs.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1995Date of Patent: June 17, 1997Inventor: Kyle W. Mote
