Abstract: A method for processing an event between a controller and a network device is disclosed. A method for processing an event in a network device comprises the steps of: receiving an event notification registration request from a controller; monitoring the occurrence of an event corresponding to the event notification registration request and; when an event occurs, notifying the event occurrence to the controller. Thus, the controller can reduce the load through reducing the number of times of message transmissions for monitoring the event by a switch.
Abstract: A drive roller for flat belts is provided in various embodiments wherein the roller has improved characteristics for maintaining traction of belts, such as lagging applied to the roller.
Abstract: A pulley having a special outer contour particularly adapted to establish self aligning of narrow width belts rotating thereon. The outside diameter of the pulley is gradually crowned from each end with a more sharply crowned ridge located at the center intermediate the ends of the pulley to provide a compound crowned contour.
Abstract: An improved pulley system for use with band printers or the like. A steel printing band is looped around a pair of capstans covered by sleeves made of elastomeric material. The sleeves include a plurality of downwardly angled flexible circumferential flanges and a lower horizontal rim. The band contacts the flanges and as the capstans rotate, inward force on the band is transferred to a downward force by means of the flanges. The downward force causes the band to move into contact with the lower horizontal rim, thereby vertically aligning the band in the printer. In an alternate embodiment, a plurality of non-flexible circumferential ridges are included. The central ridges extend farther out from the surface of the sleeve and serve to define a crown. The sleeve configuration serves to reduce wear and accurately align the printing band within the printer assembly.

Abstract: A roll for use under high or low temperature conditions, for example a conveyor roll in a flat glass annealing lehr, comprises a tire of a different material from collars on the roll between which the tire is held. The tire and at least one collar have matching frusto-conical surfaces which are designed so that differential thermal expansion between the tire and the retaining collars causes sliding movement only of frusto-conical surfaces relative to each other.
