  • Patent number: 5667442
Abstract: A chain link 1 assembly body includes a pre-molded resin sleeve having a uniformly cylindrical inner periphery and a partially convexly contoured outer periphery, a bushing conformed to the shape of the sleeve and inner links each having a bushing press-fitted hole for fitting around the ends of the bushing. The method includes the step of providing an engineering plastic resin sleeve and a bushing. The sleeve is pre-molded to have a uniformly cylindrical inner periphery and an outer periphery having a convex contour for a central portion of the sleeve and uniformly cylindrical contours for the opposed ends of the sleeve. The bushing is originally uniformly cylindrical prior to its ends being press-fitted into bushing press-fitted holes of inner links.

  • Patent number: 5176586
Abstract: A silent chain comprising link plates each having a pair of meshing teeth adapted to mesh with a sprocket tooth, and a pair of connection pin insert holes through each of the link plates adjacent opposite ends thereof. A pair of long and short connection pins are inserted into each of the insert holes. The long connection pin has opposite ends secured within holes formed in guide plates disposed adjacent opposite sides of an array of link plates, which guide plates prevent disengagement from the sprocket teeth. The rigidity of the guide link with respect to transmission of tension along the chain is about one-half the rigidity of the meshing link plate.

  • Patent number: 4349101
Abstract: A conveyor of the endless chain type passing around two or more sprockets provided with means for compensating for the chordal action which ordinarily occurs as a chain passes around its associated sprocket. The chain is composed of links having overlapping portions pivoted together by pins which have eccentrics associated therewith that have sprocket-engaging surfaces. As the links move onto and off the sprockets, these eccentrics are controlled to rock relative to the pivot pins to vary the pitch of the successive links, which serve to keep the runs of the chain moving at a constant speed.
