  • Patent number: 8795112
Abstract: An oil-free chain is constructed by alternately connecting a pair of outer link plates connected using pins and a pair of inner link plates connected using oil-impregnated bushings into which the adjacent pins of the outer link plates adjacent to the inner link plates are fitted. The oil-impregnated bushings are impregnated with a lubricant having a kinematic viscosity in the range of ISO-VG grade 46 to 460, the weight % of an ingredient having the highest content among the elution ingredients obtained by the GPC method is 95 wt % or more, Mn is 800 or more and 2300 or less, and the ratio of Mw to Mn is 1.0 or more and 1.3 or less. Oil film breakage at the sliding portions of the bushings is suppressed from occurring and the oil film strength is high such that an oil-free chain has a sufficiently long abrasion elongation-resistant life.

  • Publication number: 20090260291
Abstract: The invention relates to a noise reduction device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a device that is suitable for use with a drive chain, for reducing noise and vibration resulting from the chain contacting its surrounding environment (rattle noise). The present invention has particular but not exclusive application in reducing noise in chains installed as part of powered door assemblies. In one form, the invention provides a noise reduction device suitable for use with a chain comprising a plurality of connected links, the device adapted for attachment to a link, such that when attached, the member is fixed to and movable with the link and presents one or more surfaces to an environment surrounding the chain, the or each surface provided with damping means to reduce noise associated with the chain contacting the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 6443795
Abstract: A transmission chain includes a plurality of unitary chain links, each of which has parallel first and second side plates, first and second connecting pins, first and second pivot pins, and first and second pivot seats. The first and second pivot pins of one of the chain links are connected pivotally, removably and respectively to the first and second pivot seats of an adjacent one of the chain links, so as to enable the transmission chain to possess the characteristics of an adjustable chain length.

  • Patent number: 5192251
Abstract: The invention relates to chain structure comprising several form pieces (1) and a wheel arrangement comprising at least one drive wheel (7) for transferring the chain, which is formed of said form pieces (1). The bearing surface (1B) of each form piece (1) consists of at least one transverse opening (2) which is arranged to be situated near one of the articulations (4, 5), which opening consists of the contact edge, the bottom and the back edge. When the chain is in mesh said openings (2) of the chain co-operate with the transverse joint pins (9) belonging to said drive wheels (7). The free length of the joint pins (9) essentially correspond to the width of the form pieces (1), whereupon the contact area formed during the contact situation in said mesh of said pins (9) and the openings (2) essentially corresponds in length to the width of the form pieces (1). After said contact situation said pin (9) leaves the opening (2) of the chain from that end thereof which is on the side of the trailing edge.

  • Patent number: 4710153
Abstract: An elongated link chain includes a plurality of hingedly connected chain links. Each of such links includes two lateral walls extending in the longitudinal direction of the chain and spaced from one another transversely of the chain. There are further provided two bearing pins each arranged at one of the end regions of one of the lateral walls in alignment with the respectively other bearing pin. A transverse web rigidly interconnects the lateral walls for holding such walls in position with respect to one another. Each of the lateral walls has a separate bearing hole for the respective associated bearing pin of another identical chain link which is arranged adjacently to the bearing holes of the respective chain link, such separate bearing holes being coaxial with one another and axially spaced from each other.
